Brek Shea to Stoke as well. Hope the young American takes his chance - he was working out w/ Arsenal last year and impressed, but he's still really really raw. Played for my hometown FC Dallas for years! Brilliant move for Brek.

Couple of quotes from twitter had me chuckling

"Kudos to Andre Santos, the only person in this world who could convince Wenger to sign a player. #Monreal"

"Arsenal with a late buy to cover up injuries at left back...yeah because that approach worked out so well last time"

Love the choice of PSG. I'm not a big Beckham fan, but as someone who lives in LA, he made Soccer as big as it can possibly be here. Games started selling out and the AYSO got more and more kids out playing. So it doesn't surprise me at all he made a class move like this. He's taking one of France most visible teams and giving them one more crowdpleaser. And donating the money right back makes those Galic throats swell with froggy pride.

Seeing more about this Samba deal to QPR. HOLY FUCK. One of the most asinine deals I've ever seen incl sign on fee's, wages and transfer fee. He's a good CB, but when QPR gets relegated they will be completely fucked. Will make for decent entertainment though!

Apparently Arsenal have been tracking Monreal for a while - the guy has been learning English for a few months now knowing we'd sign him in the summer anyways. He can't possibly be worse than Santos, as I'M better than fucking Santos.

Harry is saying the lads wages are nowhere near what's being quoted, it sounds like that's what he was on in Russia and has taken quote "a massive wage cut" to come play for QPR as he was that desperate to gtfo out of a russian winter haha.

While anything is an upgrade on Santos for Arsenal I think it's pretty funny how he's getting talked up as some all world LB. He started for the Spain team due to no other options and now that Alba is firmly entrenched he'll probably never seen the field again for them. He's alright, I think it just goes to show how expensive LB's are. He's cup tied as well so Santos will have to play vs. Bayern which means they'll need a miracle for Ribery and Robben not to decimate them.

Christ I had no idea Kevin Phillips was still on the go, Crazy Olly has just signed him for Crystal Palace.

For the right amount of funds they can have him, he's not as good as he used to be. The Walcott shot yesterday was one he would have saved pretty easily 2 or 3 years ago.

Alba is one of the 2-3 best LB's in the world at the moment, so no shame in that. I'm not talking him up at all, but Hunter/Lowe/etc certainly are - and they watch a ton more La Liga than I do so I'll take their word for it. 8.5 million quid isn't a big fee either - if we decided to sell Gibbs I've no doubt at all that we'd get more than that, and this new guy is at least as good/better than Gibbs. As stated, Santos simply couln't play for Arsenal again. Against Munchen, I'd be shocked if we don't plug Coquelin/Koscielny at LB... but the run in for CL next season is much more important to Arsenal right now than CL is - simply not good enough to beat Bayern over two legs - let alone Barca/RM/Manc, so being cup tied doesn't mean too much imo.

You've already let one goalie leave today, a Brazilian chap went to Botofago (sp?) and apparently not the big name one in Rio, it's another one that's in division 4 or so of the Brazilian State Championship?! Doubt you'd dump two at the same time unless you had at least one coming in the other direction.

Unless he makes us top 4 this year I doubt he'll be around next year anyway, might as well as sell him for as much as you can if that means it's today.

Does Odemwingie need a place to stay tonight?

Fucking loooooool. Not sure how he is still gonna play for WBA after the charade he pulled today. Hysterical.

Forest sent a chap back to Peterborough yesterday after he failed the eyesight test during the medical. A fairly novel event apparently and it prompted the Peterborough chairman Barry Fry into pretty much calling Forest a bunch a wankers via twatterhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21293283

Other than that the transfer window was pretty much shite, they let decent players go and despite me saying yesterday they had 5 or so players lined up they ended up signing none of them with the Kuwaiti keeper an already done deal. They had the opportunity to do something with Jenas ffs and he ended up at QPR. McLeish/the new owners/whoever, it's a farce already. Should have kept Driscoll!

Odemwingie is digging in today and whilst he hasn't gone on strike at least he has claimed WBA lied to his face about the transfer and he will be going as soon as it can be arranged, ahh footballers

The Odemwingie thing is hilarious. The guy is 31 and he should have been honest and just admitted he was looking for one last payday. Can't blame anyone for that but instead it just all blows up in his face.

Really interested to see how we setup for ManC on Sunday. I was expecting more rotation between Suarez and Sturridge in the Arsenal game but I forgot that Sturridge doesn't know what tracking back means. Only other option is to start Suarez at the tip of the midfield but then that just leaves 2 real midfielders on the pitch. Guess we'll see......

Some pretty interesting results so far with Villa almost pulling off an upset at Goodison and Chelski blowing a lead again. Did JT play today? With how bad Arsenal's defense has been it seems Chelsea's is getting overlooked which has been pretty bad as well.

Another Forest defeat, one win in six for McLeish...

Bbc had a stat: di matteo had 24 points from 12, Benitez has 22 from 13. Odds on a Mourinho May/June return must be shortening every day unless the OT board has him already signed as RedFaces eventual successor. Well maybe not but Abhramovic must be running out of managers he can use and abuse at the top level.
