Disappointed in Uruguay, but hopefully this means Arsenal can announce Torreira next week. They looked a different side with no Cavani - seems like we may see 4 Euro teams in the Semi's. Belgium, England and Croatia will all probably go through. From that group, it seems like it'll be a pick em'. Pretty amped for the next game, hope it lives up to the hype.

Who did anything in that match? At least in my opinion it was a terrible game where nobody excelled, mainly just kicking each other and trying to remain stout defensively. Uruguay isn't built to chase a game and as soon as France got the opening goal off the set piece they should have been countering non-stop and just stepping on Uruguay's throat. On the Griezmann goal, did anybody notice that of the 3 other players with him not one went into the box? France was just holding on for the 1-0 which in my mind is criminal with that kind of talent.

France scored twice vs a team that took 1 goal in its last 8 games, I'm not sure what you expected.

frogs won? well, fuck that. Only thing that could make this day any worse is if the Brazilian trannies wins.

hehe I do not think Brazil will be quite so easy for France but perhaps we have an England France final to look forward to.

don't say things like that.

most likely the eventual cup winner will come out of the left side of the bracket. Meaning it's either France or Brazil. Lets face it, Belgium is a joke. The whole right side is abysmal mess with delusional teams given an easy ride

I don't get it either. Many good teams seem to be doing that. Worse than that is when a team completely changes its playstyle after going 1-0 even though they were dominating prior to the goal. Why not go for 2-0? Maybe it has something to do with fatigue, but defending is supposed to be tiring too.

A good example of not doing that is Germany in 2014. Especially germany vs brazil 2014. Your playstyle is working and you're scoring? Well keep scoring.

Uruguay was just out of their depth. France seems very deep in young and flexible enough talent to adapt and give Brazil a run for their money. French never really sat back and kept playing, albeit at a slower pace, but kept the pressure up.

The antics on field were disgusting though. I wonder if part of this is VAR getting into the players heads. They actually have much much more of a stage to dive on now to try to embelish any any little poke into a grieviously painful foul that will get overanalyzed in slow motion from 20 angles. Idiots like Neymar obviously have no shame, only care about the win.

South Africans have their WC 2018 predictions right though....
