Yeah it does, I get the plot reasons- it is just silly.

Ashur dies in what, middle of S2? It was during a raid on the slave rebels hideout area- so I am sure instead of his betrayal failing, it works... as he kills Spartacus from behind - as they show in the preview.

While it does not look overly awesome blossom, and the girl boss aspect... it did not look look like pure crap- it really is the house drama arena fighting and political rome nonsense focus of S1 and Gods of the Arena - as S2 and 3 really had to do with the revolt and "war" - as well, was expected due to...like...history.

That said, I most likely will give it a try, although I hated Ashur as a character lol...but I think everyone did, as that was /the point/

I can't see how they are going to rehabilitate Ashur, one of the biggest TV douche bags of all time, and turn Spartacus into a grrl boss at the same time.

Well it is an alternate history from a certain point where it kicks off on its own from mid? S2 of Spartacus. How they explain it? If they care? lol but if your wanting to keep Spartacus timeline as “real” then this has to be some form of what you said. Or like “the gods pondered what would happen if…”

Downloaded and scanned through to see how bad it was neutered. Content wise it didnt look too off from the original series

I haven't watched it yet, but premise seems to be Ashur is actually dead and in the underworld and he gets to experience a vision of a "do over", which is what we watch in the show. I suspect shit won't go well for him in the long run and it will be part of some torture in Tartarus.

There is also a decent chunk of time between S1 and end of S3 to follow some of the other houses and stuff as they deal with trying to keep doing their thing while the rumors and stories of Spartacus affect Rome.

I watched the first episode. It was actually pretty good. Tame sex scene but lots of tits and dicks if that's your thing.

The fight scenes were all excellent. If anything they ramped up the gore. None of the stupid blood splatter all over the screen which was kinda cheesy in the original. There is even a little comedy and some pretty well done subverted expectations.

It all falls apart at the end with the ridiculously stupid black chick but she is absent almost the entire first episode.

3rd episode was pretty good. They have a big old viking looking doctori who is doing a good job. Some smoking hot young slave pussy. The only bad parts are when the black chick is on screen but she hasn't done anything yet but look absolutely pathetic in training.

Claudia Black is really fucking ugly. Not sure if it's the 4k making her makeup not work but that bitch looks like she's in her 60s. Big downgrade from Xena who still could get it in her advanced years.
