Let me ask you this, Internet Shrink, where did I state that I personally watched the show for those reasons? I would assume you took me stating the shows strength lies in it's gore and titties meant that I also watched for those reasons, and then created your own reality to glorify your needy ass ego.

Beef, your talking shit. Spartacus is only as good as it is because of the political scheming and plots. If I wanted to watch only gore porn I'd rent Saw or Hostel or something. Or watch something with no plot like 300. Spartacus shines because the characters are all pretty fucking demented.

How you can fucking say the Ilythia/Baby/C-Section plot wasn't fucking awesome I don't know. Not to mention Ashur scheming the whole fucking time. I agree that the show is missing batitatus but to say its only good for it's Violence/Tits is retarded beyond belief.

I enjoyed the first season and the prequel because Batiatus was such a well developed character and through him, their Spartacus narrative felt fresh.

Once they killed Batiatus, I just didn't feel the show had anything left for me because the other antagonists are so one-note.

The reason I deride the gore and titties is because without a strong narrative and characters to pull me in, the gore and titties cheapen the whole experience. I just don't give a shit about Ilythia or Ashur. Replacement Spartacus does an admirable job, but the whole thing seems so flat. WTB another prequel with Batiatus and Gannacus.

Again, me, personally, I don't care for the shows low-fi gore and titties, I'm just stating that for everyone I know that watches the show and loves it, that's the number one thing that they talk about or care about, now that Batiatus is not in the show. It's footprint is too big.

after Andy got sick and the delay for him to get better, then he sadly died.
I kinda lost instrest in this, tried to watch it with new Spartcus but he does not have the Charisma that Andy did to lead so skipped most of it.

So how many shows will this last Season be?

Im hopeing like 10 or so, to take me up till when Game Thrones season 3 starts.

the focus shouldn't be on how poorly the current and last season's cast performed... it should be how WELL andy and john hannah did their jobs. Andy was and always be a legend. he wasn't the best actor on the planet but he was just so fricking charasmatic you couldn't help but get behind him. john hannah as well was just amazing. i LOVE ashur, but compared to batiatus, he just felt so... small time... again, that's not because ashur wasn't a great character... he was... but batiatus was that much more.

same with new spartacus. i don't really enjoy him. not that i have anything personal against him... and it's easy to look at him and just scream "YOU'RE NOT ANDY GO AWAY!" but he wasn't BAD... it was just i wasn't invested in him. i was invested in andy. i really feel like if andy hadn't died we'd be looking at season 2 much differently. the arc between spartacus, crixus, and eonamaous (sp?) was good. it was good character development... it just fell flat because you have no choice but to identify with characters who are not really at the top of their game. which sucks because when we last SAW crixus and eonamaous, they were fricken titans. in season 2 they were 2 guys trying to find their place again after turning on everything they knew and accepted as truth. so of course they are lost, and i really enjoyed what they went through because of it. if andy was still around, we would have had him to latch onto as the guy who still has stuff going on, but he's got hope and drive. it's hard to identify that with the new spartacus because we're all still stuck on andy going through all these trials and then this douche comes in and thinks he can reap the benefits?

as far as the debate goes... the tits and gore and all that are JUST as important to the story as the political maneuverings. you take away one of those and the show topples on itself as either a Rome clone or an r rated made for syfy movie. the show is what it is because of the vulgarity. but it's also what it is because of all the politics and backstabbing.

There's no debate, just a butthurt superfan that lacks basic reading comprehension.

I just finished watching the second season. The show definitely misses Andy. New guy just wasn't as good, especially during his Braveheart speeches.

Yeah, the show is pretty badass, filmed liked 300. My wife likes it cause she says finally some meat for the ladies to watch in a show.
