Starts Jan 25th.
Gaius Claudius Glaber is dead. Many months have passed since his defeat, and the rebel army, led by Spartacus and his generals Crixus, Gannicus and Agron, continue to amass victories over Rome. With the rebel numbers swelling to thousands of freed slaves, it has become a force that has started to challenge even the mighty armies of Rome.

Spartacus is more determined than ever to bring down the entire Roman Republic. Following the death of Ashur, Naevia and Crixus fight as one with newfound strength and determination. And Gannicus, always seeking to
embrace life to the fullest, shares his bed with the beautiful and dangerous Saxa.

Together, the rebels engage in one bloody skirmish after another and prepare for the inevitable: a full out war with Rome.

The Roman Senate turns to its wealthiest citizen, Marcus Crassus, for aid. A powerful, strategic politician, he respects his opponent and refuses to make the same mistakes Glaber and his predecessors have. With a young and fiercely competitive Julius Caesar as an ally, Crassus is determined to crush Spartacus and his rebellion.

The epic conclusion of a legendary journey, Spartacus: War of the Damned will unleash a battle unlike anything ever seen before.

Cannot wait. No show brings the badass as much as Spartacus.

oh, not sure how I missed this show. I'll have to check this out.

It's a shame there is so much interesting Roman history that it's not practical for an all encompassing show to be created based on the Romans. That would be a truly epic historical fantasy fiction show ;p

I don't think the new guy was shitty at all, to many people just couldn't get past that he wasn't the original I think. Frankly no one could have filled the role.

Yeah, not sure why you're calling him shitty.

It took some adjusting to getting used to not-Andy, but he's fine. Midway through the season I forgot.

The replacement to Naevia ended up being worse than Andy. Still doesn't compare, but he did a pretty damn good job last season.

Andy's replacement did fine considering what he had to fill in for. Anyways, they should probably title this "Spartacus: This season EVERYONE DIES!!!"

New guy really is fine. The writing changed noticably. It didn't get worse, it didn't get better. It just changed. I think people blame the new guy for that, but it ain't his fault. I think it would have been about the same with Andy -- it was the tone itself that changed between seasons.

It's really kind of hard to see how the final season will be interesting with Lucy Lawless gone and the Praetor defeated. Not that oiled up goreporn has to be high theater or anything. But my bet is that it's gonna be 8 episodes of somewhat tedious melodrama and then 3 episodes of what people actually watch the show for and then 1 episode where everyone (who's still alive) gets crucified.

I read an article on this season. It was never intended to be the last season. They basically said since they are condensing the story to finish this season that pretty much every episode should be very high quality. I'm sure part of that is hype but it makes sense if they already had future seasons planned out..

We had this discussion on FOH ad naseum. Basically is that it was originally planned to go 5+ seasons, but without Andy now they're just not feeling it anymore. New dude just isn't the lead character that Whitfield was. The show is good despite him, not because of him. With Oenameus, Batiatus, Lucretia, and Glabor all dead, they've gotta count on new dude to carry the show, and he's quite frankly just not that likeable.

Especially if they planned on following the arc of history, with Crixus going somewhere else to pillage and plunder. You really think that new dude would be able to carry the show? Highly, highly unlikely.
