I mean... What's the argument here? Someone please explain it to me because I'd love to know the reasoning.

What downsides are there to server lists besides development time? Are they resource heavy? It's gotta be something big, because players being able to become server 'regulars' seems like a hugely low maintenance way to build community & generate engagement to me. It also helps players SELF differentiate skill level if they so desire. If not, there's always 'quick play'.

Whyyyyyyyy?

Cause fuck you, that's why. The most fun I ever had in a FPS was playing RTCW on an OLTL server. Taking away options from players and herding them all into one giant fucking queue is BAD.

Uh, does that mean peer to peer multiplayer?

How the fuck am I supposed to stalk twitch streamers?

Agree with the first part. Not sure about the 2nd.

I think they have more things to consider today than games did back then. Especially with the Star Wars IP.

Wish it was otherwise.

Myself and 5 friends have sworn off the game over it. While a group of friends that can xbox style link up and play is fine for these dumb que's. My greatest days/fun/time in FPS was BF2142, and Original Cod 4 MW, etc with different servers I was a regular on. You had people you knew, but wouldnt quite call friends. Being able to go see your favorite enemies and have some semblance of community is important. Having control of your own servers was also great for letting you customize your experience. Find a server matches what you want. Esp in 2142 I loved forced squad play/follow orders tactical stuff.

One of the reasons I felt titan fall failed harder than it did. Just blind dumb ques.

THIS DEAL IS GETTING WORSE ALL THE TIME

i wonder if they are trying to go client p2p like call of duty or just invisible server selection like titanfall

I can't wait for X-wings and tie fighters to be ridiculously OP at launch, with pilots going 85-0 in every match for years on end causing a max exodus of the game. Then it will finally be nerfed 2 weeks before Battlefront 4 comes out.

I still can't believe you guys buy EA games, at least do it the correct way and buy it for 5 bucks 6 months later when it goes on sale.

EA, who gives a shit about the game. We only care about our bottom line.

Meh, the EA dogma, not all EA is the same EA. Ive found the entire battlefield/Dice series quite nice. Yeah BF4 was shipped early and unfinished, but provided hundreds of hours of pure entertainment. Same with BF3 and the older BF series. I found the BF series way more enjoyable than any other shooter franchise. They are such good looking and good feeling games with great gun play. To me they were always the more "adult" option.
