You really don't think there is some iteration of AT-AT interaction that allows combat to take place on/in/around in some capacity? And that that gameplay can be located on different places on the map vs a predetermined path? I just see it as a lost opportunity. Its just an AC-130 set piece, for a land vehicle that seems like a waste to me. It will always blow up in the same locations, and before you know it I'm sure that there will just be best solutions to disabling it.

So it can have up to 40 players, but is it gonna have NPC faction armies battling all over the maps too? The huge number of npcs was one of my favorite parts of the original. I'm cautiously looking forward to this, but afraid it can't live up to its predecessor.

Yep I do play some multi player on Dice games but I definitely play through the single player. Not happy about this.

Dice single-player campaigns are mediocre at best so I don't care that they left it out.

Does anyone expect this to be anything but Battlefield StarWars? Since it was announced that Dice was given Battlefront I'd just assumed it would just be a reskinned battlefield game and it's kinda looking like that's what we're getting. I'm sure we'll eventually get a great linear Star Wars game with big space battles, ground combat and no multilayer which won't be made by Dice. This is definitely a game not to pre-order. Wait for the reviews, and probably wait for the loads of DLC to be bundled with the game a year after it comes out.

Yup, I'm done with Dice, they've become the EA poster child studio for how to be absolute dicks with price points / recycling shit so fast there isn't even time for a longterm player base to exist for its titles.
Bad Company 2 rocked, I had a lot of fun with battlefield 3, I bought battlefield 4 to play with my brother. But I'm off this train now. Its like almost the same game 4 times. Its like 60/box 60/expansion. I'll just read about how much fun it is and play something else instead.

But... whats wrong with Battlefield: StarWars? Dont get me wrong, I am all down with all the complaints about limited number of players (probl because fuck if the so called next gen consoles can handle more going on) limited number of maps (gotta keep those DLC packs selling!) and so on, but I cant see how the game itself is bad just because Battlefield?

For me, it's because Battlefront was a pretty unique game. Battlefield: Star Wars would be nothing like the originals, and I don't want to play yet another Battlefield variant.

I don't think there will be anything wrong with Battlefield:StarWars. If it's well done and not buggy I'm sure I'll have a lot of fun with it. Just saying that people shouldn't expect to get a modern version of the Battlefront game they loved in 2005.
