Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Before we only had two points of comparison: TFA and TLJ. And we had the luxury of speculating where all the threads from TFA could end up had Johnson not been involved. Well now JJ is back at the helm and we get to see exactly that, so it's retroactive information about how even the laziest fanfic could do far better.

Imagine thinking a movie with Starkiller Base isn't total garbage.

the idea of someone who is really strong in the force but choosing to stay in politics... i mean that's basically emperor palpatine. there's something interesting about leia choosing the same kind of route but being the inverse of palps. where he kept his powers secret for the vast majority of his life, and used the force to manipulate things for his own benefit... if leia decided to go the opposite route, be very open about her powers, using them to help the people... i mean, that could be an interesting story.

except that's not the story they told or even hinted at.

There was no plan for the 3 movies so who gives a rats ass what the plot is

No, it is all leftover footage that is probably cut and cgi'd into the new movie. They aren't making extra scenes of her though.

Leia was apparently always stronger in the force than Luke. But she suppressed it intentionally. Likely because Yoda was a misogynist and wouldn't train a woman.

She did the same things in the EU novels didn't she? She started training but was more focused on the Republic/Rebellion than being a Jedi.

no, they had an outline for the trilogy, but they threw it in the garbage. i mean it was a Lucas outline, but he has good ideas, its just his dialogue and goofy shit he throws in his films for the alleged "kids" these movies are aimed at that are dogshit. but his ideas for stories are still alright.

no, it was actually planned by disney. i think there are waves of toys being released. this is the pre movie wave. it didnt sell. in a month we see if anyone will buy the post movie stuff.

For a long time in the books she only had very minor powers b/c she never took the time to train. Eventually semi near the end of EU she finally decided to go full bore training and reached Jedi Knight status (below Master obviously)
