The original version was a fun movie even if it was campy as hell, but I know when I saw it back in high school we had a great time. It's almost like there's a recipe for success with film where you're not sitting there trying to put forth a message and you're just making something that people might just have a good time watching.

What do I know though, I'm no Oscar winning director Goldenbergstein.

The casting for this movie is straight fucking unhinged, I am sure it will be awful as fuck but awful back in the 1990s way of just a bunch of writers strung out on piles and piles of cocaine making a very bad but fun movie.

Will probably watch this one.

The original SF movie was trash, but it had some great moments and some good jokes

Pretty sure this inspired all the "you guys got paid???" and "we're the badguys?" jokes that has shown up in memes/media since then
