I'm finally watching this week's Hell Mode. It's a little different than the novel. They don't actually know for certain there is an S-Rank dungeon until they pass 5 different A-Rank dungeons. So the magic Rubik's cube saying "Congratulations. Only 4 more until you can join an S-Rank dungeon" isn't accurate. Maybe it's just helping the story progress in some way.

God daaaaaamn Infinity Castle is a masterpiece.

Par for the course for Ufotable though.
Yea I watched it again.
The story about #3 with his girl and father saving him from the demonic influence would make any grown man tear up. Absolute fucking masterpiece.

I don't know how I feel about Akaza. He was definitely a victim of Muzan (and life) unlike 2, previous 4, and probably 1 but he's been an upper moon for a long time and done a tremendous amount of evil. I definitely vibe with him realizing/remembering that the one he hates most of all is himself though.

I did not like the scene with Shinobu and Upper 2 at all. Undoubtedly part of my negativity towards it is that her death was partially spoiled for me years ago but I also think that the pacing just doesn't have the same impact in the movie as it probably did in the manga. Even if the next movie will undoubtedly bring the revelation that her poison did have an effect on Upper 2 or that she herself was poisoned which will allow Kanao to defeat him, the quick pacing of the movie really does her character dirty, like she was unfit to be a Hashira rather than the Upper Moons just being that powerful. With the slower pacing of manga chapters you probably had at least a week to be horrified by what went down instead of immediately jumping into Zenitsu vs Scab 6 (which was also spoiled for me years ago).

Still fantastic but feeling compelled to nitpick Ufotable for the first time is weird. I guess with the Heaven's Feel movies they had a lot more freedom in how they adapted the story.

6/10 ign rating, mid anime.

.....

Fucking retards.
i can see where the ratings got low, if you saw it in the theatre, it feels dragged out and like basically 4 tv episodes glued together, especially where it doesn't conclude and all the other demon slayers are just running around doing nothing, but i mean thats only if you got "dragged" into the movie and didn't know wtf demon slayer is, otherwise you should know what youre getting into, but then you can also contrast that w/ chainsawman reze, (that got released a month later) and that feels like a full movie, reze arc begins, middle, and ends w/ crazy and more "theatre like" action.

I agree that reze was the better movie. Pacing was slow then full throttle. Not full throttle then slow and then mid throttle.

Versatile Mage seems pretty shit. Plus listening to Chinese snake speak is like nails on a chalkboard.
