(the numbers still has the $37.1M in green, but every other place is reporting it as final)
think supergirls international will be lower than morbius and joker2.
morbius opening weekend was $39M domestic and $44.9M international.
joker2 was $37.7M domestic and $81.1M international
Remember that theaters themselves take a significant chunk of ticket sales (50%+ internationally, domestically 20+% the first two weeks and 50%+ the rest of the time). It doesn't matter if everyone other than Momoa was paid peanuts, even if the thing only had a $290M budget / promo, they would need well over $400M (more likely $500M+) to cover that from theatrical. How much WB claims HBO Max 'pays' for rights means the accounting for the movie can be whatever WB wants, but some arm of WB is still losing money.
Edit: But man, Variety already had that round in the chamber for this one, compared to similar budget disasters like Masters of the Universe and Mandalorian - somebody's getting encouraged to start that "Get Gunn out the door" narrative going already.
