There's only two things I liked in The Batman : the way the common criminal was so scared of Batman that he freaked out at every shadowy corner, that was quite well done and worked well with the atmosphere of Batman. The second thing was that he did some detective work with the police, instead of just being on the run from them. I don't mind when SOME police people are against his vigilante ways and give him trouble, but Batman should realistically never be at odds with the police, and in fact has many allies in the police force (except the corrupt cops of course).
Everything else was either meh, boring, or near blasphemous (hated the Riddler's portrayal, my favorite Riddler is the suave-though-clearly-unhinged version seen in the 1990's animated series or to an extent in the Arkham games, I really can't stand the screaming lunatic Riddler version. Plus his duct-tape costume was dumb as fuck.).
Catwoman was also pretty useless in that film. Again I prefer Catwoman as a rich woman who just goes around stealing stuff for thrills, it makes for a fun counterpoint to Bruce Wayne who is also rich but vents by beating criminals to a pulp, so the 90's animated version is great for me (and her chemistry with Batman was great), but Pfeiffer's portrayal was also good, though a little too insane for my tastes. That whole movie was insane anyway, but she nailed the sexy femme fatale aspect really well with Batman. Hathaway looked nice in leather with her ass in the air on the bike, but other than that she was extremely forgettable.
