Jefferey wright is always solid, I think my appreciation for him came frome Casino Royal, I began to notice Chiwetel Ejiofor with Serenity/firefly.

Has nothing to deal with being black they just were perfect for the roles and hit every note.

Its been so long but I wanted so much more of Jeffery Wrights character after casino royal
Dude can act, sadly he is insanely unbearable as a real human being. Beyond gay and woke.

Finally got around to seeing this. 6/10. 1st half was awesome. 2nd half was meh. Too drawn out.
I kept getting "The Crow" vibe most of the movie, which is a good thing. The visuals were pretty good IMO also.

Pretty shitty movie. I got up to piss at one point and almost didn't restart it. But that was the part where catwoman was going into the club and it looked like it was about to get good.

However, I liked pattinson as batman. It's not his fault the story was so predictable. The problem is he was a garbage tier bruce wayne. Maybe they need to get a different actor to play bruce. I think that would actually be funny. Like William Shatner or Patton Oswald as Bruce Wayne and pattison stays on as batman.

Ejiofor was great in Children of Men, too. He's just a good actor and I understand what you're saying about having nothing to do with his complexion. Some people just fit their role and you never think about it, but the obvious crowbarring of gender and race to check off a box is what gets annoying.

Saw this, agree with what most said.

In some ways the live action / cinematic Batman movies are both helped and hurt by all the other Batman media. In general it seems like they portray Batman as being much weaker and flawed than say, the DC Animated universe, most comics, video games etc. It's a lot easier creating a "superhuman" Batman in those mediums because he's so frequently paired with and against superhumans. This means they have a character who the audience loves and respects so all they need to do is create a guy in a bat suit and he already has a strong presence, but then when the character has all these flaws exposed the audience is kind of left wanting. The Dark Knight was one of the few cinematic movies that felt like it had a fully developed Batman and it was so satisfying (but that movie also did things basically perfect so it's hard to match).

Anyway, I hope they time skip in the The Batman 2 and have him fight some serious shit as a fully developed super-genius, world's greatest detective batman with ridiculous gadgets and preparation and everything. I got enough of the Joker to last a lifetime and enough of their new version of Joker from this deleted scene to never want to see it again.

Yeah, Joker is done to death. They jumped the shark with Leto's Joker and it only worked with Pheonix because it was a different take on the role. Still i hope they wait a long time before we get a new version of Joker. They need to chill out on the new Batmans too.

I'm ready for some combination of Alberto Falcone, Penguin and Mr. Freeze. Can keep with the detective / hope / crime theme with Mr. Freeze as the wild-card.

Focus on characters like Shazam, black Adam, Dr fate and hopefully The Question at some point. I don't even want to see them butcher Etrigan or Lobo. Rorschach is prolly the only thing close to getting The question though

It jumped the shark with Leto so hard that he was afraid to even turn in a performance at all for Morbius.

Criticism for both Bladerunner being over-acted, and Joker's role being taken away from Leto so fast, cancelled appearances et al. Led to the Leto we got in Morbius being just completely flat and under-acted. If he keeps up with that, and is indeed a broken man-- I think I'll never watch another Leto movie again. Industry criticism completely shattered him.

His Joker wasnt that bad, i liked the abusive relationship dynamic with Harley, it was just a downgrade from Ledger and a pretty big insult to his legacy and the Joker legacy. Phoenix is a very capable actor who can do a Joker the right way with the right direction. Leto was background noise as Joker.

Haven't seen Morbius, but Leto certainly gave it all the maximum-weirdness and then some again in House of Gucci. Didn't seem like criticism made him tone down anything.

I mean, it's not "good". And people certainly also (again?) criticised Leto's performance. But it is balls-to-the-walls-all-in-maximum-weird-leto-style-method.

Well, ya gotta love the meme of Leto getting to play the most hated character from Marvel AND DC! I legit wonder if his career is toast (I mean... probably not, but..)

You guys saying (accurately) that they need to stop doing Batman for awhile... hell, they need to stop doing DC movies for awhile. They are so far behind Marvel that it's just embarrassing to pretend otherwise and pit them side-by-side.

Suicide Squad 2 was only good because of Gunn being so irreverent to the genre itself combined with his quirky charm.

DC has thousands of characters over the years, they never made a Plastic Man filn, the cartoon was sweet as a kid, everyone would love that movie if done right.
