I’m behind in that I just finished this today. What the fuck was up with the ending?

“Haha. You never figured out my master plan to tell a bunch of 8chan dorks to shoot into a crowd?”

It was pretty solid up until that exact moment and the entire movie fell apart for me.

"It's like an army of Rittenhouses!" screeched a fair percentage of the viewers.

Serpico is based on a true story and Braveheart ends on a triumphant note despite Wallace's death.

I thought the movie was decent, way too long though. Cat woman was a complete diversity hire and even acted the part. A shame since I thought the new Gordon was fine. Hope this bitch doesn't turn into a staple like Jennifer Lawrence did in X Men.

Not sure I would watch it again but it was the first enjoyable batman watch since Nolan's trilogy.

Some of you guys are real retards. Obviously the Riddler planned this long before so how should Batman figure it out easily? The reason Gordon needed him is that cops are also retards. What do they normally solve?

I don’t know why in two years this Batman isn’t at Bale’s level! I liked the movie. The last part was unneeded as was Catwoman but I really liked a Batman who didn’t have all the answers or gadgets. Must be my dislike of Gary Stus.

You know Bale was an even newer Batman, right? Like the movie starts off before he's even Batman and we see him go off and train and all that.

It's literally called Batman Begins

I think it's hard to equally compare these different takes on Batman. Bale was trained for years as an assassin and didn't even head back to Gotham until his late twenties? That version is better trained and older than the take in this movie. It also has a dude making all of his toys and armor for him. This is a different version where he's making his own shit and is much younger. The only similarity I noticed is 99% of the cops are shit. I guess even in different versions of a comic, there has to be some reality.

The cops solved the crime and got their man, "The Batman" got clowned hard and he ended up unwittingly helping Riddler execute his plan. IMO the cops arent shit and were right to want Bats to stay the fuck out of their business. which i agree with, Gordon had no right to bring in Batman in front of the police officers, its a huge sign of disrespect. you bring in Bats on the downlow when nobody is around.

i rewatched terminator 2 recently and it was funny how the cops (Dean Norris/Hank from Breaking Bad!) shot at the unarmed black guy with zero warning or commands, while the giant white guy in all leather with a goddamn mini gun is told multiple times to stand down lol

Finally got around to seeing this and I'm not sure if the screenwriter is a genuine fanboi or just some scribe that got handed copies of Year Two, Long Halloween and Hush and told to smush them together.

Pattinson has the jaw necessary to pull off the Batman, but his Bruce Wayne looked like a sickly emo kid with bad posture.

Yup. I like Pattison, but he has that 'I am going to see My Chemical Romance tonight' look at all times.

i think they did that to differentiate the names Falcone from Morrone. both could have the same pronunciation but were pronounced differently in the movie.
BTW there really isnt a correct way of saying it as its up to the bearer of the name. if your name is Mike Pagliarulo, some would say Mike Pag Lee A Rulo . where Pags would say Mike Pal Ya Rulo

Finally got around to watching this.

It was not too bad. As others noted there were places that felt a bit drawn out. I actually liked how down to earth this felt. They really wanted this mood to feel dark and depressing. Patterson actually did a good job playing Batman. There were a couple of spots where the character seemed a little too resilient for realism but I just shrugged those moments off. The detective portion of the movie was one I wish they would have just stuck with. A solid 6.5/10 for me. It was not great but it was not awful either.

There was one part that irritated me. I am a Star Wars fan. The music they used for when the mood became serious was one note and a beat off from Darth Vaders theme music. I kept hearing that music everytime they played it and they played it a lot in this movie. It just kind of through me off.

I can’t say I really liked this as a whole, but there is some goodness in here. I liked Ferrell as the Penguin and bought the Riddler character. Pattinson was a bit off for me as Batman, but I’m not going to knock on that too much.

I’m pretty sure I would’ve liked this a lot more had they cut out an hours worth of the emo shit and add the deleted Joker scene.

I have all the time in the world for Jeffrey Wright, who plays Commissioner Gordon. If you have never watched Hold The Dark, you should give it a go. Wright is the main character and is amazeballs in this movie. The end of the movie is a little meh, but does not ruin it all.

Edit - to the thread, I watched The Batman and thought it was okay. It could def have been pared down for sure, but I wasn't ever bored. Pattinson was better than I expected him to be, except when he was Bruce Wayne - too scowly, sullen, angsty hipster doofus. Luckily he spends 90%+ as Batman in the movie.

Jefferey wright is always solid, I think my appreciation for him came frome Casino Royal, I began to notice Chiwetel Ejiofor with Serenity/firefly.

Has nothing to deal with being black they just were perfect for the roles and hit every note.

Its been so long but I wanted so much more of Jeffery Wrights character after casino royal
