like xbox as have several rl friends on there. really dislike how ms handle patches and shit like that and was never going to be a early adopter of either new console. the reveal and other news, did more harm than good for me buying.

From the twitch "architecture stream":

BEING ABLE TO READ HEARTBEAT SENSORS THROUGH KINECT IS EXCITING

Holy shit guy, I don't even know what to say to that crap.
Itisexciting for the people that will sell this data to advertisers as a feedback for the reception of their commercials...

Err, that is actually quite cool.

A left 4 dead-esque AI director that reacts to heart rate could be pretty great, if done right. I believe Valve is working on similar tech at the moment.

Xbox One = Xbox America, I guess.

If anything, this should be the most exciting things for you my chubby friend, as the EMTs will be able respond to your house right away when you keel over from a heart attack.

Does the Wii Vitality Sensor ring a bell? No? Well maybe because:Nintendo "Didn't Know What To Do" With The Wii Vitality Sensor
Haha, I forgot about that thing.

I think the fact that you had to have a sensor attached to your finger limited the possible uses of the wii vitality sensor. If the new kinect can, in fact, accurately read heart rates without having to wear any extra hardware, I think there is some real potential for some unique game mechanics.

Also, if the kinect is capable of accurately reading heart rates, it bodes well for the accuracy and sensitivity of the unit. It should be far more usable than the current kinect.

Don't forget about the whole workout craze with these things now. That heartbeat sensor if used properly could be cool.

What an enormous waste of time.

"Yeah, we've carved out CPU and memory time for apps!" Okay, and your specs are higher enough that the game space alone matches a PS4? Wait, there were no specs given? Oh.

Honestly, was there anything else?

Um is that even possible in the real world without wearing something, let alone gaming? Maybe those things where you put the palms of both of your hands on them, but I never thought those were accurate.

They just had the architecture panel where they went more into things.

Well, Microsoft is claiming that the new kinect can. I guess we'll find out whether they're telling the truth soon enough.

Well, that's completely unsurprising.

Like I said, it'll only do wellhardware-wisein the US and won't repeat the heavily slanted cross-platform game sales inanyregion.
They should have put an American flag on the front. I hear you American folks love that shit.

Pretty sure that died away when people realized you can't actually get a good workout through a video game. Just turn on p90x instead.

Also, who gives a shit if Kinet is more accurate and can read my heart. Why would I want to controll a game with my body instead of a controller again?

I always thought the reason the Xbox 360 wasn't named Xbox 2, was because they were afraid people would automatically assume it was inferior to the PS3, so it's bizarre that they call this the "Xbox One", particularly when I've seen people refer to the first Xbox this way.

As I said in my first post in the thread - PS4 simply has to market their system as a gaming console FIRST. XBOX is media center, flat out.
It does seem like a strange inverse of the previous generation. To some degree, it worked out for the PS3 in that they won the media format battles (for what that's worth), but it was a little rougher for them out of the gate. Though, it's obviously all going to come down to games. If Xbox One can deliver on being a media center while still having the games (and not a $600 price tag), it should have no problem competing with PS4.

There was absolutely nothing of value said in the "architecture stream." About the only thing they did was further confirm the spec leaks of them using inferior DDR3+ESRAM setup.

The most probably scenario is that the leaks are true and it's using an identical CPU and a GPU that's something like 67% as powerful as the PS4's and shittier, slower ram. Plus they are doing an absurd amount of shit that's likely going to be huge resource hogs.
