It's an XBLA game, but yeah, it looks pretty damn ugly. I imagine the gameplay is up to par, though. Splosion Man was a great game.

You may think, after watching the initial trailer, that Twisted Pixel pulled LocoCycle (in which you control a renegade robotic motorcycle that shoots and karate-chops its way across the country) out of some loony creative cauldron of its own making. But that's not quite true, says studio director Michael Wilford, showing the game for the first time at PAX Prime 2012. There is a very clear inspiration, he says, and it's Ice Cube's 2004 motorcycle racing movie, Torque.

"It's a really shitty movie," Wilford tells us. "It tries to be Fast and the Furious on motorcycles." Twisted Pixel's art director gave a copy of Torque to the company's chief creative officer, Josh Bear, one day as a joke, and Bear was directly influenced by a viewing, especially a scene where two women battle with motorcycles. "Josh had a nightmare that night," says Wilford with complete sincerity, "and woke up the next day and said, 'We have to make a game about a fighting motorcycle.'"

Even if they do, I doubt anyone here can really be influenced, since we are some of the most jaded gamers on the planet after all. "Anything you announce is shit until you prove otherwise" is good rule to live by (and cheap!).

Makes me wonder how much of reddit is being abused by PR though, especially in the more frequented parts.

I don't know about Reddit (doesn't seem too bad to me) but I made the mistake of reading comments on Verge and holy fuck I wanted to hurt somebody. So many MS apologists just littering the thread with drivel.

It continues to amaze me how Microsoft obviously doesn't understand the world as it is in 2013. The continued bungling of PR related to the Xbox One just doesn't make sense if you think of MS as a technology, internet, services, whatever company. In 2005 Reddit didn't exist, Facebook wasn't a fraction of what it is today, and QuickMeme was a random occurrence on 4chan. Almost every demographic from 10 year olds making Christmas lists to 40 year olds looking to upgrade media center or spend tax returns have persistent reminders right now of just howbadthe Xbox One is going to be. And I use bad in italics because all that matters is what you read when F5'ing /r/gaming and /r/gonewild with my iPhone 5 feeding me Twitter updates. They must be banking on parents that don't communicate with their children (okay so like 90% of them today) to walk in to WalMart and Toys R Us an dsee the new Xbox and buy it for Timmy.

Just can't make sense of it at all, the internet isn't that hard.

I was actually trying to be serious with the question - I have absolutely no clue what that game is supposed to be - it's got fighting message blurbs while riding a bike with the most awkward view I've seen ever - with a dude with his jeans caught on the pedal while all sorts of police chases and other bullshit is going on around him.

What the hell is it even supposed to be play wise? It looks like something that might actually be fun in a bizarre way.

BTW for whomever was asking about PS4 and PSPlus earlier in the thread - I was checking on the date for UC3 getting added this week and found this blurb at the bottom of:http://www.computerandvideogames.com...ng-going-free/

SCEE president and CEO Jim Ryan said in March that PS Plus will have a prominent role on PS4. "We're very happy with the service that we've been able to offer," he commented. "It's been really well received - the value is quite extraordinary and the take-up has trebled over the course of the past year.

"We definitely see that as a core part of the way forward. We're not yet in a position to disclose our plans for the future of PlayStation Plus, but there will definitely be a prominent role to play for it in the PlayStation 4 landscape."

I've got a hunch it'll probably be Indie stuff and PS3 conversions similar to how PSPlus was for the early days of PS3 in regards to previous generations and indie stuff for the first couple years on PS4 - but it's absolutely going to be part of PS4 for damn sure. (err well, double reading it's actually Sony Europe that said that - but it's unlikely Europe will adapt it to PS4 and US/Japan won't)

I bet it'll have something to do with Gaikai where they'll stream bestselling PS3 games to your PS4 with your PSN+ sub. Of course they'll still keep giving out Vita and Indie games, then PS4 games once they're a bit older.

As long as they don't tell me I have to connect to PSN once every x amount of hours or days then I'm sold either way.

If that's true and proven they should get barred from E3 - that's not the point behind E3 in the slightest. It's outdoing by innovation and coolness - not underhanded trickery to fool consumers out of money.

If true and proven and E3 doesn't give them the boot, I'll lose any faith in E3.

As close as E3 is it would be hard to prove it. Even if true i doubt those who were paid would admittedly say they took money.
