Just saw that on ESPN... Wow! Damn.Apparently JPP had to have his right index finger amputated today.
yeah this just sucks for JPP. I remember hearing about linemen in the 80s who played with really fucked up fingers so maybe this wont affect him too much.. and they tape their fingers together anyway? so maybe not career ending..The JPP one amazes me since he's not under contract. They franchised him but he hasn't signed the tender yet. They already pulled the long term contract offer.
I was expecting a QB. Rodgers or Brady.
The thing is the top QBs are pretty close. At his position Watt is way ahead of everyone else. Cameron Wake is a monster but he's not anywhere near as good as Watt.I was expecting a QB. Rodgers or Brady.
I think the biggest issue is not actually in-game but when it comes to strength and conditioning training. Like he won't be able to grip a barbell properly for a while.yeah this just sucks for JPP. I like to imagine his baby mama/girlfriend nagging the shit out of him now "you stupid motha fucka, i yold yo ass not to get drunk with charlie' dumb ass no mo' and you know you still paying for my sister kid private school"

Going to be seriously tough on him."Just from a tactical standpoint that's your grabbing hand, to not have an index finger it makes it hard to grab. I'm trying to grab a piece of wood right now and not use my index finger, it's hard. You can't grip. For him as a pass rusher, he's gong to be losing his power."
If you try to grab something without using your index finger, all the pressure and strength flows from the other side of the hand, which is the weakest side. With your index finger it's more spread out. Now if he's just going for leverage without trying to grab, the drop off won't be as much (still will see some, he'll have to relearn how to use his hand), but he'll lose a massive amount of power if he tries to grab with that hand.
