I lived in Phoenix, AZ before moving to the Bay Area and while everything else is better in California, the burritos were definitely better in Arizona.

Problem with that theory is birds don't have capsaicin receptors and will eat the shit out of hot peppers. By your logic the tastiest thing on the planet is Cactus. Being tasty has nothing to do with defense mechanisms.

Just had the steak version. Thought it was good. Definitely not shitloads of rice like in a Chipotle burrito (which I actually like).

I never had the cantina burrito or whatever at taco bell so I can't say if that's how they normally do rice or if they are putting less in this thing.

This. Animals have different taste, or palatability, from species to species than us. Why do you think dogs eat their shit. That's why it's fucking stupid to give your dogs people food. There's a really good chance their formulated dog food tastes better than your leftover fries. You're just making them fat and annoying chow-hounds.

Also I know there's several levels between Franks and Blazin. But some people just go "THIS SHIT DOESNT BURN MY EYES THROUGH MY NOSE: NOT SPICY" with food. The shit that does do that tastes like burning dirt. I've got a mild pepper/onion allergy but I can drink most anything you throw at me. Just makes my face sweat like a fucking waterfall.

What are you talking about? You denied that the heat of peppers was a natural defense mechanism. That's the only reason I linked that article. And I will keep eating them, because they are delicious. Ever had chipotles packed in Adobo? Hot damn that's good stuff.

He didn't deny that. He denied it was because 'they were tasty'. That article is about fungus and insects eating them. Fungi have no palate and go solely based on nutrient/resource availability. I don't know about all insects, but most don't have taste preference.

Well I guess you're right he didn't deny the defense mechanism. But animals do have taste buds and preferences. They just aren't as picky as us (though humans aren't too picky either). Anyway, spicy food is plenty delicious.
