I don't love chilis but their $10.99 chicken sandwich 3 for me deal has to be the best deal in fast food right?

Entree (sandwich + fries), drink, unlimited chips and salsa

I normally wouldn't even put it in the fast food category but it's better than actual fast food deals.

Crazy that $10.99 is cheaper than almost any fast food meal.

6 inch cat food sub?

Burger King: we go in and there is nobody in sight. Just two kiosks.

This is what I see more than bad service, just no one there. The McDonald's here seems like it has about 3 people working most of the time. The first drive thru window is closed a lot and even the dining room is closed a fair amount because they only have people to work the drive thru. They always have a sign up saying hiring for $18 an hour with flexible shifts and free meals and whatnot but still don't seem to be able to hire anyone. Wendy's is the same way. If you see a line at the drive thru and it's not at lunch time or dinner time you know that it's going to be a 20 minute wait.

food pricing in general is fucked and has nothing to do with the market.

for example subway launched a 3.99 deal for a 6 inch sub, while they sell their footloongs ranging from $12-$16.

why do they do this? who fucking knows but the end result is some wagey is making 2 sandwiches at 3.99 per individual, because people of course just ordered two at the lower price instead of a footlong.

The one reason I can think that this happens is subway is just hoping that you arent paying attention or something.

That does sound pretty retarded but thankfully we have Publix so there is zero reason to ever go to Subway even if that shit was free.

When I worked at BK like 25 years ago we had a 5 piece and 10 piece nugget or something and the 10 piece cost like a full dollar more than buying 2 5 pieces. I think they're just banking on retardism

Likely anyone who still eats at Subway is too retarded to figure it out.

I started a new job recently and lunch is free every Tuesday. They offer this through Lunchdrop. So I am trying out various restaurants they rotate around. Which is kind of nice. This office also has Corner Kitchen which is a vending machine that loads up cold or hot food. Neat device but I haven't used it yet. But it has a rotating menu too and if it has like Panda Express it comes out piping hot. But it also has cold stuff from Jersey Mike's and such. Thanks COVID for such innovations!?

Corner Kitchen

We had a Team Lunch thing and the entire org I am an was shocked that I have never used Doordash other than a few times when I had a gift card from something. All of these people are 30 somethings with kids and they use Doordash like 4 times a week or more. Wild.

I used DoorDash so much pre-Covid that I got on some VIP list. During Covid and after I never used it once. The prices became too stupid to justify.

Getting door dash is such peak laziness, there's a retard tax there for sure.

Only time I ever used it was instacart when we stayed on the disney resort because we didn't rent a car. We had them deliver some groceries to the hotel

Yeah fake and gay is the lifeblood of the modern economy.

Corporate offices spend the living shit out of this. Why not? Theyre not paying for it, the company is aka the customers are. aka we are. You and me.

Even healthcare does it. Across our whole economy, if somebody needs food, the resounding answer from the top is: doordash it, heres a voucher.

Every one of us is spending a shitload on doordash every single day - we just arent getting to eat the $30 burritos.

Yeah, it's obvious ordering delivery is going to be expensive as shit compared to picking up, but I do think the way it's displayed is bullshit. The McNuggies aren't more expensive to the restaurant because they're getting DoorDashed. "Oh, but the app has to make money someone how and cover taxes and development and payroll, etc." That's literally what the "Service Fee" says it's there for. If that's not enough to cover it, then the service fee should be higher so people can see just how much they're being fucked in comparison. Marking up the individual items is scum tactics.

I'll get delivery twice a month, since I get some bennies from my credit card for it. I'm well aware I'm getting ripped off to be a lazy shit, though.

It's easy to regulate this crap out like they've been trying to do with hidden fees at hotels and TicketMaster. Whether they become successful is a different story.

DoorDash takes like 30% of the cost of the order from the restaurant (some can negotiate lower), on top of the service fee. Most companies aren't going to just eat that %, they up the price of the items to compensate.

Should be itemized that way, then.
