So chik-fil-a is opening one of their first restaurants in Connecticut tomorrow about 2 minutes from where I work. Don't worry, I won't be eating there. Today on the way to the gym during my lunch break I noticed something strange.

The entire parking lot was filled with tents. People are camping out early for fast food. That's a new one for me.
Nah, thats the weird chik-fil-a cult following. Whenever a chik-fil-a opens you have those ppl camping out in tents.

Seriously though, I'm pretty sure those are paid employees by chik-fil-a, it is like a store opening team that travels the country and makes sure everything starts out smoothly. They should serve breakfast for free the first couple of days the store opens. They may even only do drive through the first day if I remember correctly, I suppose just to give employees extra time to get acclimated.

Just found out the first 400 people that walk through the door tomorrow get one free meal a day for an entire year.

When they opened the first Chick-fil-a here in KC a few years back, traffic cops had to come out and direct traffic. The drive-thru line was backed up about a quarter mile out of the parking lot and down the road, blocking 1 lane of traffic completely. Shit was nuts, all for a chicken sandwich. Its good, but not THAT good.

I wouldn't wait much longer than 5 minutes for one. They are good for fast food, but people get really weird when new fast food places open. A Sonic opened by me not too long ago and the traffic was insane over there for like a month straight.

I guess if it's something you've heard about for years or craved from your youth. I imagine an In n Out here would get a lot of attention day one. I mean, a huge long line is still stupid andIwouldn't do it, but there's more to it than people just wanting a good sandwich.

I don't recall ever eating at a Chik-fil-a. It's a chicken sandwich, how good could it be?

I'm a big fan of their waffle fries too, but I think the best thing on the menu is the spicy chicken biscuit.

You know the Southern Style Chicken sandwich at McDonalds? That is pretty much a Chik-fil-A ripoff even with the single pickle. Just the real deal tastes better.

People camp at chick fil a because you get free meals for a year. Didn't realize it was 400 people though, I just remember it being 100 for the two that opened by me recently.

I heard a rumor that the vacant business directly across the street from me is going to be a Five Guys. I'd take time off work to sleep on the sidewalk for a couple days for a free year of Five Guys meals without a second thought. Chicken sandwiches though? Meh.

Agreed. The best chicken sandwich is still a couple steps below a mediocre burger. We don't have Chick-Fil-a here but I can't imagine getting excited about a restaurant that does not sell any beef at all opening.

If you're only getting chicken sandwiches at Chick-fil-a you're doing it wrong. Milkshakes, friends. Milkshakes.

I don't really eat fast food anymore, so this is more of a food porn thread to lurk for me. But I had to say this is one of the best uses of a reaction gif in history (re: all you can eat BK). The image has stayed with me for weeks now, and always elicits a chuckle.

I do subscribe to the McCheese theory of calorie-bombing every couple weeks. Seal of approval indeed.

In-N-Out is always crazy busy all the time. Here in Vegas, off strip suburban location and I'll see the drive through 20 cars deep @ 3AM.

Just hit the all you can eat Burger King. I managed 2 drinks, 2 medium fries, and 3 burgers and I'm stuffed. Works out to 2300 calories or so, which isn't bad considering I'm off to the gym now.

Might hit it up again next gym day. Pretty cheap way to stuff yourself silly.

Should have skipped the second fries and had another burger. Filling up on bread and potatoes is a rookie mistake.
