If it really was coincidence that would suck for them. For anyone else that had to look it up real fast, it was 1982 hence the H982 being part of it.

Well, it happened towards the end of the long trip and they clearly modified the cars for offroad. Plenty of that body damage could just be from the beating they gave the cars.
What's the car in the middle? Top is Porsche 928; bottom is Lotus Esprit. Hamster in the 928, May in the Lotus. Clearly Clarkson in the middle car due to the jackass hoodscoop.

Part 1 of a 2 part Patagonia special aired tonight, pretty sure the 2nd part airs tomorrow. Pretty good stuff so far, they're taking some V8 cars through South America on mostly shit roads.
