I'm usually the guy who looks at TLP timelines and thinks "wow, that's way too quick to release expansions.. I'd like to spend more than x number of weeks in kunark or velious". But yeah, 6 months now for the next expansion? There's going to be absolutely nothing to do and I will for sure find something else to occupy my time by then.

Not to mention, they've now delayed the SSF / HC mode from the original June 27 date to who knows now. The way I see it , the more time they spend on this stuff the more it's going to delay them releasing the future expansions.

I'll play SSF and I'm kind of excited for it, just because I did a self imposed SSF on my first toon and it forced me to really see a lot of the world. I'll probably do some dungeons I skipped the first time around. The only thing I'm not sure about whether it's going to kill my desire to play the game or not is forced tradeskilling. I gave myself some allowances on the self imposed SSF, I don't really care to mess with tradeskills so I bought the ethereal sheets for PoP armor. I also bought some spells that I was having trouble obtaining. I like SSF in theory, but I'm not sure about that aspect.

But yeah , running out of stuff. I have 3 chars at 65, all can clear time and quarm, 1 can 4/4 seru, none can zeb. I guess I'd like to get a zeb kill but after that I'm not sure what I'm working towards.

I hope the community is being fairly vocal about it as they seem to listen to the masses somewhat but they also get hung up on what they want to do. That's somewhat understandable, it's their sandbox and we're all playing in it but I do think they're going to let significant air out of the balloon if they don't get things lined out. At least it is summer and I'm sure people will be traveling and such but in the next couple months, they need to have a plan moving forward otherwise its going to suffer a significant drop off.

Yeah, that's going to be an easy win for DBG. The donations thing was the nail in the coffin. Can't be making money on DBG's IP (or anyone's in general).

They are also being fucking morons about only having 1 server. Each ruleset should be its own server. SSF/HC could be awesome if they were on a clean server. Forcing them in the same pot as everyone else is going to limit their appeal dramatically.
I thought this as well - but I reconsidered.

The way they are implementing this works for a single server.
Think of SF and HC as leagues - similar to POE.
Other than chat - you cant interact between these leagues. HC has its own economy and SF is SF.
I expect SF guilds that work together - minus a bazaar feature this feels pretty classic.

I'm looking forward to the new modes more than GoD content. I feel like the server has much greater potential once they get some of these features working well. I imagine seasonal leagues in the future and I think that would be a blast.

Adding more content now is not sustainable imo. As it is now with high level gear being equipable at lvl 1, you can burn through to end game in hours and finish all content in a matter of a few days. Skipping most content in the process. I am looking forward to SF just to draw the experience out more.

Daybreak could be rich if they were not so greedy (and lazy).
I hope they lose it all and the community wins.

What are the odds that they move towards an official THJ server? Or are they too incompetent?

Godspeed devs of THJ, it was fun while it lasted (I always hoped to give it a real shot down the road).

I think Daybreak is legit pissed off that these people created a concept more fun than anything official EQ has done in two decades.

It's shitty, these devs have been great but it was bound to happen with their donation system having in game benefits

Their TLP are garbage, uncreative, unsuccessful failures and there are probably project managers that are attempting to put the blame on anyone but themselves for making a shit product. So they can point to all these people playing THJ who they would argue would otherwise be playing TLP servers and all that "donation" money would be going to krono or whatever the fuck they monetize in that game (I haven't played since 2005, I'm just getting this from reading forums and discord) would be going to Daybreak instead.

Maybe they get to hang on to some of their jobs for a little while until they realize that all they've done is ruined an enjoyable emu. The subs aren't going to magically increase because people like myself will just go find other games to occupy them, not return to a shittier version of a 1999 game.

A smart company would've used the massive surge in popularity and publicity to their advantage and come out with a creative new TLP (while also still keeping the lawsuit on the backburner).

Instead, they release Fangbanger...

I hope this is Daybreak angling for a license fee. Which is completely reasonable. They are clearly out of ideas. If someone wants to take the IP, and make something interesting. So long as you get a cut, who cares.
