After I posted in the What’d You Just Read about The Devils and my Broken Binding copy, someone mentioned he may have more planned in that universe.
Yeah it seems to me it will have a follow up.

Setting up the replacements at the end as well as the main baddy just walking away, I think we will see a follow up. I hope he keeps each arc to one book like he did this one and the middle three first law books, that’s when he’s at his best.

First Law is great but the three standalones that follow it are even better. They’re more similar to The Devils in structure but they’re in the first law world/timeline and share characters, so read those six in order. The trilogy after those I didn’t care for but others did. I was bummed at the end of Devils cause I wanted it to keep going, I may just have to go through his first six again. I may check out his young adult Viking trilogy too, I’ve never read that.
I haven't checked this thread in a while, but I still think the first trilogy is the best, but I do like the follow-up books. Still live not ever gotten around the reading the second two of the second trilogy, and I probably never will.

I haven't kept up with him as an author because I just wasn't interested in what he was doing, but I'll have to check out this new book if it's that good.

Was Best Served Cold the one where the protagonist's only fault was not realizing that she was beautiful inside and out, along with being better than all men at swordplay? Yeah no thanks!
No. She hated herself, she was fucking her brother, and was rescued at every fight she was involved in after getting her ass kicked. She never once straight killed anyone of note. Picture a mauled, meth addicted brother fucker with dark hair and a mangled hand and you close enough.

Where’s the weird boner reaction when I need it?

She's probably the one protagonist out of all of his first six books that I hated the most. She's just a horrible person who doesn't have any sort of redemption arc. Everything is simply revenge, and she gets it, but she's not better for it. Logan at least can walk off into the sunset despite everything he has done.

That one quick paragraph about Logan when he was young destroys all the better man stuff for me. It was from Bethods point of view, Logan murders that dude and is the whole reason decades of wars happen. Crazy shit. No coming back from that.

Yeah we empathize with Logan cause we’re from his point of view all the time and he realizes he’s been a horrible person most of his life and is trying to do better. From anyone else’s point of view he’s a monster. I’m doing a reread and Shivers and him just met at the campfire, he talks about how Logan cut off his brothers arms and legs and nailed his head to Bethod’s banner, laughing the whole time and it mentally fucked his dad up…whom he later went on to kill. He left nothing but death and uncaring destruction in his wake the majority of his life.
