Kind of surprising that he would make the jump. Wonder how much of the Colbert Report will come with him? Guessing none, probably wouldn't play to CBS audiences

He'll be great. If you guys think he's only funny because the character he created you are stupid. He's hilarious and engaging because he just is. Watch him interview non-political folks and it's still hilarious and he's not doing his schtick there. Add in that he's just a great performer in general.

Doesn't mean the show will get ratings, but it won't be because he's not great at it.

This makes me sad. I'm sure he'll be fine as the host, but late night talk shows on the big networks are generally terrible. I like Colbert Report.

Ferguson isn't terrible, he's a perfect fit for what people enjoyed about Letterman. Putting in Colbert is not unlike putting Conan in for Leno.

Ferguson didn't want the job.

Also, Conan got shafted by NBC, they didn't give him any help. In fact they hurt him by making his lead in a terrible half our Leno show.
