But yes Zelda is generally associated with archery - in the old cartoon, even in BOTW as she gifts the super bow, etc.

Ya, Zelda having a bow+arrow has been a thing for a long time. Like you mentioned, she used them in the 80s cartoon and later post-NES games started having her use weapons more

Yes, and she was a "fighter" in the 3do game, so? And in the new game she stars in... Also Sheik was also portrayed as a result from the dystopian future that was created without Link. The young Zelda at the end of OOT will not grow up to be Sheik in that timeline because link is there (or will she because link is dead in MM?!?!?!?!?!) vs the young zelda that does grow up to be sheik without link.

However, the overwhelming majority of "Zelda Games" is Link, saving the princess/world/fighting gannon and or minion solo - and thus a movie that is most likely "not any one game" should be a overall generalization of said series - and having girlboss zelda tag along is not that...but, its a few stills...we have to see what the actual movie brings.

Still want them to fit in an "excuse me princess" in the movie somewhere.

Didn't realize they had to take every game, average them out, then go with whatever that is. You should let them know that rule you just made up while there's still time

Yeah I will let them know to produce a product that is recognizable as said product in an overall perspective.

Link was just a non-interactive sleeping NPC in Mario RPG... we should go with THAT representation in the movie, we dare not go with what Link and TLOZ is in general or what 90% of the content has as established characteristics.

Ocarina of Time is definitely an obscure title that few have even heard of.

Incredible comparison

Looks fine so far, as long as this doesn’t turn into an 80 pound girlboss fist fighting demons because she’s so badass and needs to save the weakling Link I think it will at least be watchable.

The Super Mario Bros movie was completely devoid of it (and also included Anya Taylor-Joy. I'm definitely going to be proven right! ^_^) so I don't think they're going to just add it in to swirl controversy and definitely cost them ticket sales. If it even starts to seem like they are pushing some weird ass blue hair agenda, you know that the millions of gamer dads who don't put up with that will absolutely not bring their kids to see it. Which is like at least 75% of their target demographic. Even in this day and age, the dollar (and Japan being crazy conservative) are going to keep these properties relatively clean of "the message." Hell, I would wager if they made a Metroid movie they wouldn't even kind of mention the mistranslation of Samus being a "new-half" or whatever the tranny brigade was championing a decade or so ago, and that's like the strongest thing the blue hairs have in any of the major Nintendo IPs as far as I am aware. If this was a Sony property or something I would be worried, but Nintendo keeps super strict control of their properties. I think we're gonna be alright.

WTF is a "new-half"? As a huge Metroid fan, this one somehow completely missed me.

Japanese term that had multiple meanings like a slur for half-breed / mixed race or describing transgender. A background designer in the 90s said it once about Samus so it became the holy grail of canon to fanfic-ers.

I'm pretty sure Samus has been established as a genetically-modified human infused with Chozo DNA a long time ago, which is how she can use the power suit and morph ball without breaking into a pretzel unlike the poor space pirates who attempt to replicate her tech (data log in Metroid Prime).

So yeah, kind of a half-breed, but there was never any transgender meaning to it until the bluehairs forged a square into a circle.

The only semi-officiel trans (or transvestite really) character in Nintendo games that I'm aware of was Birdo from Mario Bros 2. Some later games (some Mario Kart game I think) said he was a boy that liked to dress as a girl and put a bowtie on his head. That seemed to bother some snowflakes so I think eventually Nintendo just made Birdo a girl officially.

They could still gay this up with Tingle. Japanese humor can sometimes overlap with faggot humor.

Catgirls, android girls, etc. New-half is slang for halfbreed. And yes, from the 90s.
