What does a primetime movie or a weekday matinee even cost now? Do you have to take out a second mortgage for popcorn and a drink?
I just remember when I was younger we probably went to the movie theater every week, whether it be in younger with my parents going to the dollar cinema, or in high school or college with my friends, and even as I got older just going to buy myself to catch a film that I wanted to see.

I think it's been almost 6 years since I've been to a theater.
It's expensive for both tickets and food.

Matinee prices are $22 to 24 for adults $27 for IMAX.

Military is $17 - $21

Day time shows are $17. Except Tuesdays which are "Military appreciation days" where tickets are $5 for military and vets.

Food... $17 for large popcorn. $8 for a hotdog, large beverages are $8 and alcohol is $25+ depending on what you get. The only somewhat "reasonably" priced food at my theater is the 10in pizza for $11.

I mean, depends on where you live and all that Jazz too. I went and saw this Friday night at 6:20 (so I assume that's not matinee) and tickets were $9.25 each in Laughlin Nevada. Large Drink and popcorn combo was $17.

So, all in it was less than $80 for my family of 4, a Large popcorn, Large drink, and 2 large Icees. Yeah, not cheap, but less than $20 a person. I imagine there are plenty of places with cheaper options, but I imagine most are slightly more expensive.

I know my wife and I went to a theater in Chicago last year and spend like $150 on just the two of us. Movie sucked too. It was a bummer.

Think it was cheaper the last time I saw Rush in concert, sans the beer. That's crazy though.

Slidell. Northshore of New Orleans.
There's still a Ralph and Cacoos on 10 there, or at least the last time I drove through. Might be one of their last locations apart from the one in Mobile. Unfortunately they didn't have turtle soup on the menu when I stopped in for lunch.

No, it's closed. The closest one is in Bossier City now and Mobile.

Nielsen was at the top of his game in naked gun.

Neeson is basically a corpse they trot out in low budget flicks for name recognition these days.

Well I think when I stop through it was probably 2018 or 2019. That sucks though. Growing up we used to eat at the one in downtown New Orleans all the time. Probably went there once a month if my parents were taking us down to the French quarter. They had the best City style turtle soup. Used to be a place out west of Metairie called Sal's. Little hole in the wall po-boy shop, and they had the best country style turtle soup. R&Cs fried catfish was always really good as was their crab au gratin. My mom usually for Christmas will buy me cold at a print New Orleans cookbooks off of eBay, and luckily I've got one for that particular restaurant.

I don't necessarily miss New Orleans but I miss New Orleans in the 80s and God damn do I miss the food.

The amount of low budget action movies hes been cranking out that go straight to streaming is insane. For such a high profile actor it makes no sense.

Yeah, the one in the French Quarter is closed as well. New Orleans is a shit show and if it wasn't for work I would NEVER come here. I moved here in 2017. First night in Louisiana, visited Bourbon Street. Smelled like vomit, piss and shame and never returned back to this fucking city till I started this new job April of this year.

Last time I actually visited there was the Mardi gras right before Katrina. it's funny because I looked on Google maps for the house I grew up in and to see if the school and church I went to was still around and it's all gone.

Think we moved out of there to Texas in the summer of 93. New Orleans back in the '80s was great though, but you still have to watch out for stray spells from magicians, but the dark magic is definitely crazier now.
