I Think You Should Leave is hilarious. It's about an hour and a half total, each sketch is about 3 minutes long. It is made by the white guy from Detroiters, if you watched that.

I Googled this after seeing your post and everyone calls it the funniest thing Netflix has ever made.

The first sketch (with the door) I chuckled at. Made it halfway through the third and turned it off (which made me a little sad because it was with the guy who was Richard Splett on Veep).

I guess I'm just getting too old for this type of comedy? It kind of reminded me a bit of the Interdimensional Cable from Rick and Morty which I've always found to be the fucking worst episodes by far of that show.

God damn, that Instagram sketch is fucking horrible. What's with the 35-something women still sporting vocal fry?

I Am Mother was tolerable-to-good. Would rate it a B- to a B. Skip the trailer, it gives away too much. Basic story is: A robot is in a bunker with lots of human embryos for some reason. It decides to grow one of them into a person.

Is the child a female? Does the sentient robot raise the female child to teenage years? Does the robot then reveal that it is fully equipped and ready to begin repopulation of the world with said female teenager?

I will only tell you that at one point they show that the girl is 18. Let your imagination wander from there.

I liked it, but it wasn't great. 6 or 7 out of 10 I guess, depending upon how generous I'm feeling. Girl was cute, so that helped. As stated, don't watch the fucking trailer. When will these fucks learn not to give everything away in the fucking trailers?!?!

Watched Rim of the World out of boredom. I was surprised at how the kids were talking. I must be getting old.

Bad CGI but not the worst movie ever. 6/10 cause I liked the Asian kid.

I watched this before watching the trailer. Pretend this is a direct sequel to T2 and it is better than anything else we have had since.

I watched the trailer after finishing the movie and you are right, it shows too much.

I Am Mother was good solid Sci-Fi. I'd give it 6.5/10 but it would have been 7.5 if it had had a better budget and some small adjustments. It keeps you guessing and definitely feels like it would fit as a sequel to T2 as Attog mentioned.

Love Death and Robots. Loved it. Well done stuff. I don't think there was a single one I didn't at least reasonably like.

I am Mother was ok, a small step above the other meh sci fi movies Netflix has put out (2036 Origins, IO, Extinction) but really just a good setup and a good ending with a lot of mediocrity and tedium in between. I think most people miss the high concept of the movie, namely

Hillary Swank, APX02, and APX03 ("daughter") are all genetically the same person. Swank was given away as an infant to humans (13865 days ago gave it away, 38 years or her age) and raised by humans but mother slowly killed off all her human companions to isolate her, APX02 was killed because something went wrong, and Daughter was raised by Mother and tested at 18 with the deliberate introduction of Swank. Mother controls everything on the planet.

Which is kind of a... shitty skynet. Kill all humans because humans suck? ok, fine. Repopulate humanity but control their upbringing? uhh... ok, kinda weird, but fine. Fuck your "perfect" human up with a weird test that will definitely infect her with weird morality and psychological baggage? Why would an AI do that? makes no sense. Her version of humanity will replicate in exactly the same way and have all the same exact problems, you didn't fix shit Mom.

Looking forward to Death and Robots this weekend, its already been renewed for season 2. fuck yeah!

I didn't miss that spoiler but the show had plotholes. "The Mines" the homing beacon, etc.

The perfect human will sacrifice itself for the greater good. Ruled over by an omnipresent hive mind, that will murder anyone that is no longer needed, or serve the greater good.
Finally, someone has perfected Socialism.

I can't wait for them to finish Bright 2 (working title). Really liked the first one. I have like 9 more months to wait, though. Oh well, it's already been 18 months since the first one.

Mother looked like a YouTube video. I fell asleep, but it was late. I doubt I'll finish it.

Bright was terrible in every way except world building - I may get bashed for this, but it reminded me of Hellboy+Alien Nation

Ralph Breaks the Internet - Holy cow. Trailer made it look like more of the same but in the Internet this time Lulz. Emoji Movie did that, pass. but no, it really wasn't and it hit me in the feels and gave me things to still think on (I drew an uncomfortable amount of unexpected parallels). Plus the Disney princess scene was great and I had never seen them 34-d modeled before.

I downloaded Ralph Breaks the Internet a while ago, but still haven't watched it. I'll have to give it a shot. Maybe just turn on netflix instead because the quality is bound to be better.

Anyway, regarding Netflix, I was looking for a show for my not even 2-year old to watch. I decided on a few "no dialogue" style shows. IE - They don't have the CONSTANT bullshit whining voices from most cartoons they throw at kids.

There's 2 that he really likes.

Larva Island is his favorite.

My 7-year old sat down next to him after school the other day and started giggling about the show. It's more story driven than most cartoons. It has to tell the full story without any talking. I feel that this makes that style show a better viewing experience for him.

The other show that he likes is The New Adventures of Figaro Pho. It's a show about this kid that has a phobia about EVERYTHING.

I found it out completely by accident. He doesn't ever watch TV, even if I try to get him to. Within the first few minutes, he's bored and trying to climb in what I'm building yet again. I tried a few random shows until this animated show about this little middle eastern girl came on. I couldn't figure it out, but he just couldn't get enough of the show. After a few quick episodes (2-3 minutes each), I realized that I hadn't heard anyone speak. I was going to have him watch more of this a week later, but it seems to no longer be on Netflix. Oh well. So I researched some other dialogue free (or extremely dialogue limited) shows. Here's the list I've put together so far.

Not all are on Netflix, though.

Angry Birds
New Adventures of Figaro Pho
Shaun the Sheep
Timmy Time
Larva Island
Pocoyo
Booba
Room on the Broom
Pingu
Hilda
Mr. Bean
Oddbods
Oscar's Oasis

EDIT: Oh shit, I went into the viewing history for my son's account, and found out the show he first watched and enjoyed.
Mighty Little Bheem. Maybe it isn't middle eastern, but the name made me think so.
