This thread has been deemed completely horrible now, in case you were wondering. I'll probably still read it, though.

San Francisco calling the kettle black.
Not really. After the 2011 season, it was mostly Mexicans who no longer wanted to associate with the Cowboys (due to them being so irrelevant) jumping on the 49er bandwagon. Plus, the 49ers had a pretty well established "fan base" due to their success in the 80s, so seeing a lot of 49er fans "reemerge" wasn't that outlandish. It was like seeing Steelers fans "reemerge" after 2005. Sure, some of them were bandwagoners, but seeing a bunch of Steelers fans wasn't unheard of. It would've been a similar situation if the Cowboys had won this year. However, prior to 2012, seeing a Seahawk fan outside of the Pacific Northwest was akin to a Bigfoot sighting. I had probably seen just as many Jag fans as I had Seahawk fans up to that point.

Alright then, thought experiment.

Lets pretend that taking a 1/4lb of air pressure out of a ball improved grip and somehow has a significant and direct effect on the outcome of a game.

Your team is in Conference Championship Game, would you want your coach to order the balls to be deflated, knowing that even though it might cost them a 4th and 7th round draft pick, it would magically significantly improve their chances of winning... Or not and risk losing the game.

Supposedly, Jackson? (guy who caught interception)went to his coach and said ball felt soft, who went to head coach, then to Gm who called the nfl officials and we get deflategate...

Brady when asked, sounded astounded at the concept.

This is probably one of the worst thing GB did. I can't believe he just fell down like there was 30 seconds left.
I actually had no problem with this. It was a wet field and he was in the middle with a bunch of Hawks in the area. Anyone who watched the Chargers fumble a pick and give the SB trip to Brady a few years back knows this was the smart play. Best case scenario, he gets maybe ten yards out of that. Worst case is he fumbles it right back. What he was not thinking about was that McCarthy was not going to unpucker his asshole and let Rodgers throw the ball. Our defense was spent by then, after containing for most of the game, and we asked too much of them.

I would have kept running. If you're thinking rationally enough to go down to protect the football you can protect the ball and run with it, wet field or no.

Agreed about all the MM commentary though.

I've seen this opinion expressed a few times now and I totally disagree. Just laying down after an interception with tons of time left on the clock because you're afraid of fumbling is absurd. Anybody on the team could fumble at any point. You can't play the game that way.

Also, dunno what you mean by "a bunch of Hawks in the area." The only Seahawk within 15 yards of him was flat on the ground, and he has at least 2 teammates nearby to block for him.

In the Mike Singletary era the Niners lost a game to Atlanta because a dude didn't fall down after an INT and was stripped. But iirc the situation was a little different because the Niners could have kneeled out the clock (or left only a few seconds). Maybe it was my PTSD kicking in but at the time I was thinking the GB dude should have just fallen down as well.

Good 'ole Dre Bly. Started going his "Deon" impersonation 80 yards from the endzone. Such an idiot.

I agree I don't get a lot of MM's play calling. Especially not testing Sherman when its obvious to anyone paying attention that his arm is pretty hurt.
