He had the whole Seattle oline and Wilson at minimum to run through. Odds are he wouldn't have advanced the ball far nor wasted much more time. Mcfatty should take the blame not Bostick and I'm amazed Rodgers didn't just punch him out in the locker room.

I am wondering why it is taking so long? not able to find the balls? nfl missing their balls?

once the "call" was made. once the game was over they should have confiscated - ALL- of the balls(colts and patriots). locked them in the ref's room. then immediately weighed and psi checked all of them.

if all the balls check out ok- say all the balls were checked, all fell within regulation.
if not say of the 24?48? however many game balls there were(12 or 24 per side due to the weather they are allowed 24). on the patriots side x amount were within regulation, y amount were in violation announce the same for the colts. if there was only one or two of the balls in violation, and those in violation were within say a psi of regulation. say it. there is no way to tell how many of said balls were actually USED in the game...

ok say they prepped 12 balls and each ball was used the exact minimum amount of times in the game

each ball of the colts would have been used 4 times with 4 balls used 5 times
patriots each ball used 6 times with 4 balls used 7 times

if 24 balls used by each team, each a minimum amount
colts 2 plays per ball and 4 balls used 3 plays
patriots 3 plays per ball with 4 balls used 4 plays...

now the question is, were they evenly distributed, etc.

for the record i was born in seattle in 1974 the year the seachickens were formed. my dad voted on the team name (he voted for the "kings") and is one of only a handful of lifetime season ticket holders, meaning he has purchased some season tickets every year, throughout the kingdome and husky stadium eras and everything. he was honored on the field a few years ago for that and now he has some of the best seats in the house, although only 2. he had like 8 or something through the 80's. i was actually arrested for scalping tickets to a monday night football bronco-busters game when i was 12 by undercover kingdome security and had to do community service.

why should you care?

because there's a reason seahawks fans are insufferable. it isn't because they're bandwagon and it isn't because they haven't been watching football the last 40 years.

it's because (other than the sonics in 1979) we're fucking losers. it's a HUGE sports town. like giant. meaning people there really care about sports. and we have never won fucking anything of import. people still talk about ken griffey jr. beating the yankees like it was yesterday.

seahawk fans may be more insufferable than any other current sports franchise but i don't think you can really blame us. we've been waiting forever for this shit. anyway, some perspecitive fwiw. i'm looking forward to the sb but nothing is going to top crushing elway last year. that was just too sweet.

It's not a big deal either way whether he kept running or not, I don't think anyone is claiming he would definitely had been going the other way for 6. The would have been his 3rd pick of the day for Dix that he dropped would have been a pick 6. Can't remember how much time was left but it was definitely after the Packers had kicked their first field goal of the 2nd half so there was under 10 minutes to go. Wilson overthrew or misread something and ball went straight through Dix's hands.

The falling to the ground on the interception was whatevs, if a guy is that worried about it you can run and secure the ball well enough that you won't fumble, whether the field is wet or not. Just not that big a deal either way, people are just poking fun at the guy thinking they were about to kneel the game out or something.

I was actually thinking about that the other day. You have to cut the Seahawks fans some slack as a 49er fan because there was a long-ass time when the 49ers fans got to circle two wins on the first day of the season for the Seattle games. Even in the shit years when the 49ers were terrible you could usually count on the Seahawks and Cardinals for at least 3-4 wins.

What does that mean if a pro sports Ohio team ever wins it all? Where all the Bengals/Browns/Cavs/Indians/Reds fans at? Blue Jackets don't count because I don't care about hockey. I have no idea if they have fans or not.

EDIT: I guess there is the Columbus Crew. But soccer? Really?

Back to the ball thing, the reporter who first broke the story tweeted today that Jackson told him the ball felt fine, so he is not the originator of the story, refuting his source.

Funny that Aaron Rodgers is now saying he thinks all balls should be pumped up to a minimum amount but with no maximum being illegal. Also said that he thought a good portion of NFL QB's would actually like a more deflated ball, essentially because they were pussies with small hands.

Seattle fans don't bother me. Then again I don't live in Seattle as a fan of another team so maybe it would be different there. Pats fans however, and by extension all of Boston sports fans, are some of the most insufferable d bags I have ever met. Makes it really easy to choose which team to root for come super bowl Sunday.

Was listening to the radio today and heard that the pats are now tied for most super bowl appearances with eight. I couldn't even imagine the asshole levels of they had managed to win five or six of those. Glad my bears took one away from them at least, even if we are only relevant championship wise every twenty years or so.

As a Niner fan living in the Seattle area, let me just say no to that. I was sort of ok with them winning last year since the city hadn't won anything in decades, but the fans are intolerable now. I'm absolutely sick of seeing Seahawks everywhere I go.

Your reasoning is off too. The Seahawks joined the NFC in 2002, so the Niners have been pretty much shit (much worse than the Seahawks) for the majority of the time they've been in the same division. The only time the Niners have been really good in that stretch were the Harbaugh years - it was never an easy two wins before or during that time. On the whole, the Seahawks have been better during the time they've been in the NFC west. Don't forget that when Holmgren was in Seattle they dominated the division and made the super bowl one year (a super bowl they arguably would have won if not for some terrible calls).
