Exactly. Imagine being so demoralized you defend your brainwashers actions on the internet. That is something truly special. Its almost enough to make you respect the skill of the demoralizers.I see. The demoralization has been effective. Quite effective.
I defended Idris Elba as Heimdall because he’s been pretty good in other roles. I was wrong.
That means you care.I could care less about race casting.

retarded casting choices (e.g., black Helen) usually predict retarded choices in other aspects of a film.I've completely given up on caring about race casting and just boil it all down to "all actors are tools" in their ability to be used by a great directors to make great movies, and also "tools" in the sense that they are retarded.
Give me a great story and great direction and I could care less about race casting. For me that battle is lost.

He loves a blackened bark on his beef flaps. That means you care.
Then it all works out in the end.retarded casting choices (e.g., black Helen) usually predict retarded choices in other aspects of a film.
are you okay? That means you care.
Wat?Then it all works out in the end.

I think what he's saying is if they make shitty choices otherwise than casting also, then the movie will be shitty and you can avoid it for being shitty rather than for shitty casting. I don't agree with that, I think casting can ruin an otherwise good movie, but it's an opinion.Wat?
Is this a language barrier issue or an anal sex joke that I'm just not getting?
Fair, maybe thats what he means.I think what he's saying is if they make shitty choices otherwise than casting also, then the movie will be shitty and you can avoid it for being shitty rather than for shitty casting. I don't agree with that, I think casting can ruin an otherwise good movie, but it's an opinion.
If it’s correct is it still an opinion?I think what he's saying is if they make shitty choices otherwise than casting also, then the movie will be shitty and you can avoid it for being shitty rather than for shitty casting. I don't agree with that, I think casting can ruin an otherwise good movie, but it's an opinion.
The opinion part is whether race-based casting ruins the movie for you. For him it doesn't, for me (and everyone else posting) it sure seems to.If it’s correct is it still an opinion?
My take is there was a lot of bad faith race swap casting done the past decade. Makes me less inclined to just “see what a particular actor can do in a role despite race.” I think that’s where we were about 1999. But then specifically race swapping white or white adjacent historical dramas and myths for fighting oppression…naw. It’s one sided. So I guess I’m saying a fact isn’t an opinion.
Oh I know. And I’m saying I’m not sure I consider your take an opinion. The opinion part is whether race-based casting ruins the movie for you. For him it doesn't, for me (and everyone else posting) it sure seems to.
