The stupidity of the entire stupid point being argued is she had NO IDEA The Odyssey existed. No one is claiming she should be 100% familiar with the source material. She said in her statement that she had zero idea that The Odyssey existed. None. That’s it. The at is profoundly stupid for a Yale Drama graduate. That someone could go through elite Western dramatic training at Yale and never even encounter Homer or The Odyssey in any meaningful way. The only thing more stupid than that is this argument and people apologizing for her stupidity.
She even says in that article that “She had performed a few monologues from Greek mythology in drama school at Yale, but was unfamiliar with the source material.” So, obviously this was part of the curriculum in some respect.
Here’s the 2025 curriculum: Acting (M.F.A. and Certificate) | Bulletin of Yale University
So given all that were supposed to believe she just had no clue this thing called The Odyssey existed… because she didn’t go to High School in the U.S. and maybe didn’t take the SAT?
okay Jan.
