As far as the DEI checkboxes, Page's character is in no way a stand-in for or last-minute swap from Achilles. He doesn't fight at all, is immediately murdered at the beginning of the movie (before Troy is breached), and as far as I can recall from the poem, isn't given any of Achilles' dialogue during the encounter in Hades.

So Achilles still appears in Hades and his appearance was not bait and switched with the transformer lady? You sure about that?

The median age is in the mid-60s so they don't need help to shit themselves and don't care about diversity.
The fuck is this stupid bullshit?

Additionally, with the new 2026 class, the Academy would be 36 percent female, 25 percent from underrepresented communities, and 22 percent from international territories.

Also nothing is stopping 60 year old white dudes from being woke retards, just ask the citizens of Minnesota. The actual citizens, not Somali shitskins.

You have 14 Days. If after that time Helen of Troy is not properly recast as Mila Kunis, I am unsubscribing from Paramount Plus, and returning all my Atmos speakers and Trojan horse popcorn bucket pre orders. The rest of my friends will follow suit, as will several other forum posters and Facebook friends and people that love Dark Knight.

Achilles is not in this movie beyond a mention. No one was "switched" into his role in Hades or otherwise. In Homer's poem, Odysseus converses with a multitude of shades, and during Achilles' turn he laments the fact that he didn't choose to live a long(er) life as a poor farmer, and asks about his son. The Sidon character in the movie scolds Odysseus for sending him to die by way of a lie, nothing at all to do with Achilles.

Bald brah is the somehow even dumber replacement for Chuck when it comes to media consumption. Engagement besides to mock is wasted effort. He probably dropped out of school before they would have even read The Odyssey.

He was in school? I figured him to be a shoe glue mixer from the age of 3.

I'm willing to accept the possibility that Nolan either was forced to cast Page/Lupita or decided to for woke cred, and then minimized their roles and made a great movie anyway. I'll wait and see, but Nolan has made great movies in the past. It's too bad we have to try to decipher if we're being hoodwinked into watching a DEI movie or not.
This is absolutely NOT a woke movie.

10/10 from me. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Perfect story.

The return of the father, reestablishing order, filial succession, redemption, kingship, the journey west. It's all there and is in no way compromised by black Helen or a troon playing Sinon.

And the dog. Goddamn, as a dog lover that hit me.

Indeed "Oppenheimer won" wasn't exactly as much of a gotcha they thought it was. A large portion of Hollywood was upset that year that Jews didn't count and there was a major activist movement presented to the Academy to recognize them as DEI. All this months before Oppenheimer went on to win.
I swear the same conversation happened a couple of months ago that we pointed out dei Oscar requirements regarding this movie, and somebody said Oppenheimer, and I pointed out the fact that it's about a Jewish commie, so therefore it was in the running. This must have been this past spring in this very thread.

It's fine that they cast a fuck-ugly chimp to play a legendarily beautiful character because I liked the rest!

I really don't have any interest in seeing this movie. Nolan's shtick is wearing thin and half of the cast I can't stand.

The last movie I saw with Matt Dumbfuck Damon was the Martian. What an over-rated pos. But I like hard sci-fi (almost non existent in Hollywierd) and the director, so I put up with Dimwit Damon. The rest of the cast of the Odyssey isn't much better and some are much worse. A bunch of plastic retreads with over inflated egos and the collective IQ of a toad.

Ewww!

An 8 who cut off her teets so she could date a 4.
Every post I read of yours makes me respect you just a little bit less. The fuck kind of drugs do you have to be on to ever think Ellen Page was an 8?

It's like they are more worried about what other reviewers are going to think of what they say than actually saying anything.
That's most people for anything these days.

I don't think she's ugly. Kinda stupid reason not to see it regardless. She's in it for about 2 minutes.

Side note: John Leguizamo was my fave performance I think.
He was great and so was Pattinson at being a cowardly bastard.
