I have a guy in the airforce and he calls his money he gets when deployed as desert money and spends it all on guitars.

Has a 7 string caparison he bought at namm from the company owner, kxk, ran, bc rich owned by one of the guys in deicide and plays through a diezel

Caps are nice, but having seen them up close and compared them directly to Mayones, I can't see paying the kind of money Caparison wants for a machine built guitar.

I love mine.

Mayones is nice but I can't justify a $4k guitar
If I was going to pony up multiple $k for a guitar, I’d just shoot for the moon with one of these: Hollow Body Electric Guitars | languedocguitars.com

Languedocs are dope, but I wouldn't want one because it's associated with Trey Anastasio so much. It's practically a signature guitar.

I really want a B&G Little Sister when I next find myself having too much money and nothing to buy.
That’s an interesting guitar. Haven’t heard of it before. Closest thing I’ve played recently was an Epiphone Casino, which is a really nice playing fully hollow P90 equipped guitar. It’ll likely be my next purchase, but not for a few years. Body style is probably bigger than the little sister, though, by the looks of it.

Casinos are huge, I can't really get comfortable with them.

I kind of wanted an ES-335 but since Gibson is so shit or miss these days I'm tempted to go with the B&G for my non solid body purchase

A friend of mine recently landed a nice Gibson ES-335 from Chicago Music exchange. Buying online is a definite gamble in quality though. He got lucky.

I think the casino and the 335 are the same size. I play an Epiphone Sheraton II which is 335-size and the casino didn’t seem any bigger when I played it. The ES-339 is a smaller version of the 335, I believe.

You know you're right I'm thinking of the 339 for the 335 and the Casino for the Sheraton. The casino is big but usable, it's that Sheraton and similar Gretsch hollow bodies, those are the one with the big like 4.5" thick bodies.

My Sheraton II has a slim body, like 1.5” or less - same as a 335. I’m not sure about the Sheraton I; if that’s even a thing? Those thick body Gretsch guitars are too boxy, I agree. They’re more like an accoustic with electronics than what I consider to be an electric guitar.

I was a fender guy in my younger years until I stumbled upon the Sheraton II. My strat is now my “I don’t give a shit what happens to this thing” guitar. I bring it to drunken cookouts and pass it around. Can’t beat a strat for playing on the couch though. The contoured body form is downright comfortable.

If you look for the FB group "Mayones Available Guitars" there's always guys selling them for a lot less than that. The Regius I just bought was less than $3k shipped to my door. The only one of mine that is $4k is the 100% custom 7-string Duvell I ordered. I picked the wood, the neck shape, scale length, fretboard radius, pickups, wiring configurations, bridge, tuners, my own finish style, etc..

I did that with my Carvin in and it was like $1300. It's a very high quality instrument too.

Yeah.. the Carvin shop is right up the freeway from where I live.. They make great guitars for sure. I really hope they survive.. The Carvin Audio side of the business is shutting down..

Damn I should get them to make me another one then. I want to get one without a tremolo system so I can mess around with alternate tunings more. Wilkinsons fuck up even drop D.

I really want to try out a kiesel and see how they play, problem is no one around here has one so I'd order it on faith.

I think $2000 is about my upper limit on a guitar. I realize I have a gibson lp custom and caparison and they're considered high end, but mayones are just too much for me. Maybe if I was famous.

You just have to rebalance the bridge when you change tunjngs which sucks.

I had a 7 with a hipshot bridge and if I ever go non trem again that's the bridge I'll get. So simple yet so effective and low profile
