Bethesda fallout has never been fallout. It has the name and even the pip boy, but none of the soul.

The formula is so simple. You lionize the 1950s as an American golden age and set that idea inside a spaghetti post nuclear exchange western. Bethesda was making disaster porn, which is fine! It even approaches good sometimes. It just isn't fallout in the iconic sense.

The innocent and the sinister, that's where all the humor in fallout comes from. Just two simple ideas. Bethesda games don't really fit, they're just too open ended. It's not a bad thing of itself, it's just not the same thing.

so I hope obsidian can get back to two simple ideas. But, tbh, I hope it isn't the 1950s. It would be a small disappointment if they played it that safe.

Cautiously optimistic. I hope everyone learned some valuable lessons from watching Bethesda and Blizzard step in giant piles of crap in 2018. May 2019 be the year of the gamer again.
Now i only need to know how severe a case of will consolitis this will have before i commit.

I'll buy day one to support these guys. Knowing full well their games are buggy as hell at launch, but the quality of their stories and game flow interactions awesome.

Funny how their first trailer says "Steam".

I guess they'll stop doing that nonsense now and just say PC again.

I have a feeling that's gonna be pretty soon. Agreed, it takes a while to burn through that cash, but I'm thinking that we're already starting to gain an idea that there at least will be an end to it.

They'll probably have sufficient market share by the time that happens for it to not really matter. They know Fortnite was lightning in a bottle and it won't be easily replicated, so why not invest the money into establishing something new that will also support their engine business.

I get that, I am just annoyed that they are bringing what I always saw as more of a console problem to PC.

Not very much about video games pisses me off, but this pisses me off.

Mostly it pisses me off that Obsidian did it, not that epic did. After all the issues they've had with publishing they step in it again.

They're one more fuck you away from being Bioware to me.

There is no world where Epic does not ramp up their store features to be at least similar to the other major platforms like Steam and GoG. That is absolutely going to happen.
