I'll believe Neil over the poors aka the people who need a job in the Astronomy field. It's safe to say they aren't getting one anytime soon.
He isn't a scientist, he's a fuckin Kardashian. Why would you low-ball your own learning like that?

Scientist turned media figure. Like Olympian turned media turned not-manHe isn't a scientist, he's a fuckin Kardashian. Why would you low-ball your own learning like that?
I'll take an active scientist doing actual scientific work over a "I'll say what you pay me to say" celebrity influencer scientist any day of the week. He's in the same boat as Bill "Millions of Genders" Nye.Scientist turned media figure. Like Olympian turned media turned not-man
I assume it’s difficult to deal with that level of notoriety/fame, especially come out of a domain poorly understood by the majority of people outside of that domain. We should celebrate people who are great communicators and help to inspire society and future generations.I'll take an active scientist doing actual scientific work over a "I'll say what you pay me to say" celebrity influencer scientist any day of the week. Not related but who does Tyson even work for? Some government agency or such?
I don’t mean him specifically, definitely seems at least full of himself. Just the general idea of sharing/discussing ideas and concepts that expose people to what's possible and in a way that's accessible, open discussion to promote though vs "shut up and stay in your lane" or "this is the way it is, everyone who thinks otherwise is wrong".
