Surprised nobody has pointed out how similar the original movie's setup was to the Kyle Rittenhouse thing.

-Guy gets falsely accused of "firing into a crowd of protesters" on the news

-Guy gets made an example of (or they try to, anyway)

-Turns out guy just had the wrong political views so they tried to hang him out to dry

Anyway, it isn't like any modern movie is going to touch any of that but it's an interesting thing to think about I guess.

Better trailer than the first one but now it's 30 day Purge rules against a contestant? Collateral damages and bystander deaths acceptable.

That’s pretty divided. One review said the movie tries to stay close to the book and the 80s film at the sametime and as a result, does neither well

I've seen comments about the critics going the way of Bullet Train reviews for this movie. Will have to see if there is more viewer separation away from the film snobs.
