Justiciar arrived. It's definitely worth the 150 bucks! Love it!

I bought this 2 years ago for my wife. It was $500 back then and they're about $750 now, FYI.

Anyways, this thing is awesome. My wife makes iced coffees and I usually just do drop coffee with one shot of espresso. Both of us are coffee snobs and like fresh ground coffee, which this thing makes really easy and with no mess. My sister in law makes lattes and mochas all fucking day when she visits and is begging her husband for one for Christmas.

Havent had any issues with it in 2 years and its pretty close to maintenence free. The milk frother thing is a --little-- worse than it was when it was brand new, but thats about it.

Also, I fucking love these. I ended up buying one for work and everyone uses it. Also got a 2nd one for the kitchen that I use for all kinds of stuff like gravy or marinade. It's surprisingly powerful, but not powerfull enough to do stuff like mix eggs.

New speakers on the left, old on the right. The lil tag is a magnet protecting the tweeter.

So hooked them up and I was so worried about having FOMO or buyers remorse ...haha what a joke. These things are fucking incredible. My wife who hated the old ones as they hurt her ears and were fatiguing because they were so in your face. She absolutely loves them and is amazed at how wide the sound stage is, it doesn't change at all in our living room almost no matter where you are. You can hear every note of every instrument. The bass is full and authoritative with out over powering the mids. I know they are not even in the same price range but the difference is absolutely striking.

Furthermore they handle every genre well. We Listened to Fast Cars by Tracy Chapman, Gods Menu By Stray Kidz and some other Kpop. Then we put on Journey on the record player. Heaven literally gave me goosebumps. One song it sounded like the singer was 3 feet in front of us and the best part it's almost soothing. None of the harshness or fatigue from the old Klipsch.

These would be worth it at three times the price.

I've always thought those Klipsch were way too harsh sounding and many tests I've seen comparing them in pairs show their frequency response varying by over 10db from speaker to speaker.

The BMR's are certainly a huge upgrade. What are you powering them with? Any EQ added yet or are you listening to them 'right out of the box'? Those RAAL tweeters are really nice. I don't know anyone that has personally done this, but I have read people dusting around them with vacuum cleaner nozzles and sucking that inner ribbon loose or bending it. So warn your wife or future cleaning companies.

Right now I'm powering it with my older Sony ES AVR. It's a pretty beefy older AVR with 90WPC x2. And I'm definitely getting that power because I can crank these and they are definitely not the most sensitive speakers haha. I'll be upgrading it to something better at tax time probably. I ran the Sony Room correction for the towers and the sub I left connected. Sounded phonemonal before and after. All it did was crank the sub output down since these are full towers.

Do you have access to any old school vintage Pioneer receivers, like SX-750, SX-780's or larger? Those will make your BMR's shine. Hit that loudness button on nicer vintage models to solidify the bass and you'll have no need for the subwoofer. That 8" Scan-Speak in a transmission line will dig impressively deep for music. Sometimes a ported subwoofer being mixed with a transmission line can actually reduce your bass due to phase issues and cancellations. Those two types of cabinets are difficult to have working together with anything under 150hz.

No doubt they already sound 10x better than those Klipsch right out of the box, but believe me, they can get even better. Those BMR's are purposely designed for a flat response, so you should eventually do some EQ work to make them sound exactly how you like them. The flat response design is a plus and normally done so you don't have to boost or cut any frequency too much to tailor the sound to your own taste. You picked some good speakers though.

It's a shame that the vintage Pioneer prices went crazy in the past 10 years. You used to be able to find them for very cheap on Craigslist. You might still be able to get lucky in your area searching for decent looking SX-780's or bigger. They really are the go to for 2 channel big towers and you should hunt for one before investing in new stuff. Worst case, you turn around and sell the Pioneer for what you bought it for.

I don't but definitely wouldn't mind a vintage receiver. Yeah the BMR can do at least 25hz. I tend to run them directly for music so no sub. I have the sub there still because our Christmas tree is on it currently haha. It will probably come out after Christmas.
