Not in the slightest. I think you're a highly intelligent, extremely stubborn contrarian who loves to debate. I think this love of debate often gets in the way of reason. I think you often adopt nearly indefensible positions for the sake of these debates, and sometimes it makes you sound quite silly. Lord knows I don't speak to people in my day-to-day the way I do on rerolled. I use it as an outlet, which is what I'm sure a lot of people here do.

Do you speak to your good friends in the same way? Or close family members?
When dealing with students, other faculty, or non-close family members, I act differently. I self-censor because of the environment. However, when debating or having a conversation amongst friends or close family members (like my brother or sisters), I defend or hold pretty much the same opinions I do on this forum.
Or are you saying that you hold different opinions or beliefs IRL and are advocating different beliefs here than you really hold?

Tan, I believe we would both self identify as feminists. Yes? I know I do. However, for me, I see a fairly clear line in the sand bewteen different 'sects' of feminism. I feel as though the realtively modern labels 2nd and 3rd wave are fairly accurate descriptions of this line. In a general sense, I am a proud 2nd waver. So let me ask, do you also see this distinction and if so, do you consider yourself a 3rd waver?

I honestly don't give a shit. I think men and women should have equal rights, not just in the legal sense (since we're already there) but in the reality of day-to-day life. I don't give a shit about distinctions between "waves". I'm not aligning myself with any particular group as I don't see any value in that. I speak for myself and not for others, and they don't speak for me. I'm not interested in the "with us or against us" dichotomy that drives most of the bitching in the GamerGate thread.

Which is what I was saying; this "court" acknowledged this male was "black out drunk"--well the legal reasonable standard of consent. But still somehow managed to indicate her engaging in oral sex was consensual (It shouldn't be). This, according the colleges own rules, even if he agreed--is a clear cut case of rape. This is precisely what Tan argued rape was, in fact, "black out" or too drunk to make cogent choices? Is what EVERYONE, even the people arguing against Tan, agreed the point was in terms of what is rape. (Tan was arguing for far, far less intoxication as a standard.)
So it's not just like the guy said he was black out drunk, and Tan is being a hypocritical jerk for not believing him. I was commenting on the actual school asserting he was black out drunk, and THEN finding the sex consensual, and then finding that the woman could be raped anyway....And Tan's position on someone being vulnerable while in that state took a 180; mainly because he's a troll.
