A lot of what made two so good was the connection with the first movie. I feel this is now a money grab which is concerning. Hopefully I am wrong and the story is actually very well done.
This was exactly me. It was one of the very first movies I saw after covid and I went in expecting a popcorn flick and nothing more. I walked out having had a great movie experience with Maverick. I was also really glad they got Val in there before he passed away.Yeah you could say the same for Maverick though. Nobody expected it to be any good, like basically every 20-year-later sequel. None of them are ever good, and yet Maverick was fantastic.
Benefit of the doubt at this point.

If it didn't suck when it was released then why do I care?I think you guys forget the original Maverick was complete shit and they had to cut and refilm a ton of stuff. They cut out half of the cast lol.
If I remember right test screenings really fucked up the release and not COVID as much
Just saying the original they made sucked and cruise had to take over or some shit
So everyone should re-watch The Last Samurai & Edge of Tomorrow. You won't be disappointed. Hell, throw Days of Thunder and Oblivion onto the pile as well.
Tom didn’t let you down with MI2, John Woo let us all down. It was such an odd swing and a miss. We got dovesJust saying dammit, maverick was supposed to be a massive failure. Cruise has let me down twice, MI2 and MI8. Well I guess the Mummy also, eyes wide shut isn't as bad as I thought it was
Hard to think of an actor that have such a successful resume
