This was awesome. Can't wait for part 2.

I watched the 4 hour youtube thing they talk about, as well as a few other youtube vids on this. The problem with the super long one is the guy's attitude. He starts off with "I have decoded Lynch's meaning, this is it" and by the time he gets to the final part where he responds to viewer criticism he sounds petty. The whole point is that there are multiple interpretations. Also, he completely discounts every other creative voice involved in Twin Peaks in favor of his interpretation, which is bad.

Been watching this show for the first time ever. Started with the old one of course. Not real sure what to make of it. I thought it was going to be a crazy paranormal suspense type show, but it's been a pretty grounded-in-reality crime drama so far. The only really creepy/paranormal stuff is the main character's dreams. The main driver of the show has been finding out who killed Laura, and I'm starting to think I won't actually get satisfactory answers on that one, or will after I stop caring.

First season was an interesting murder mystery with a nice Pacific Northwest vibe. Second season so far just kinda feels like they're wasting time, everything's a bit silly, and there's tons of time being spent on Leland and his band of weirdoes. I think I might tap out if it doesn't start getting interesting again soon (and giving me more Madchen Amick). It feels like a bunch of disparate character stories just sorta lumped together without much rhyme or reason at the moment. One minute I'm following the really hot chick working at the brothel (who I'm still unclear on what her purpose on this show even is), the next I'm hearing Leland singing for the 50th time.

Was really hoping to stick it out until the Showtime episodes though, have heard many many good things about those. Been watching one DVD per night (2-3 episodes) so I'll get there in another week or so.

There is a lot of paranormal stuff in the first season. Bob. The curtain place etc.

I don't think I've seen too much of Bob yet. Looking forward to the show getting more into the paranormal element. It's definitely a slow burn.

Funny thing is how I don't think I've seen any of Diane yet either (the main character's secretary he records messages for). Wondering if she'll ever appear, or if she'll just be this unseen character we never actually meet. Like the dad-phone in Earthbound.

Season 2 is worth watching for the first 8? episodes or so then it goes heavy into the soap opera shit until the last couple episodes. They kinda blew it when they revealed what they revealed so early in the 2nd season.

That might be why the show got cancelled (not sure how early into S2 that decision was made). Sounds like a lot of folks probably got bored with it once it devolved into soap opera.

Someone on here was saying that one of the new episodes was the best episode of TV they'd ever seen. I think it was Episode 6 or 7 of the Showtime show.

Weird how the complete DVD set has the old show and the new show, but not the inter-quel movie Fire Walk With Me. Luckily it's easy enough to find online.

I'd encourage you to stick with it if you enjoyed season 1. Even though it's not as good as the murder mystery stuff, it's still not horrible, and it's good to get all that context going into season 3. I'd watch it for Audrey Horne alone 🤤 and Dale Cooper is still one of my favorite characters of all time.

Man she never did anything for me. Especially seeing how she looks now. Shelly on the other hand was worth watching for me.

I love this show a lot. I couldnt get into the new season, it was just too different. But the first 2 seasons are one of my all time favorites.

A few months back I plod through the recent season. It has its moments here and there, but 99% of it is non-sense or bad jokes that should last 10 min stretched over 10 episodes (EDIT: I rechecked my notes, the bad joke lasts 15 out of the 18 episodes). A big disappointment.

Audrey Horne is pretty darn hot. Especially the last episode I watched, where she was in the brothel wearing a short black nightgown and nothing else. Just an absolute babe. I hope her and Dale Cooper get together.

Also like the actress who plays Laura and her cousin. She's gorgeous with blonde hair, not bad as a brunette either though. I'd probably leave Lara Flynn Boyle for her too.

However neither of them hold a candle to Shelly. I've mentioned Madchen Amick in reverent tones before and how she helped me through puberty. I didn't even know she was in this until after I started watching it.

Show has no shortage of sex appeal, that's for sure. Even the brothel madame is hot. Any time Audrey or Shelly are onscreen, I'm paying attention.

seeing the words 'Shelly' and 'hot' in the same sentence on these boards gives me PTSD
