I've got a 32 tailor. One of these days I'm going to pop one of those xp potions and just grind the rest out. I've done 2 of the 3 banisher quest lines recently though and they are kind of fun.

Vanguard's 6th Anniversary
?Vanguard launched on January 30, 2007. The development team wants to wish all our players a Happy Anniversary! Thanks to all of you for making the world of Telon such a fun and memorable place to play over the past six years.
?Speak to the Historian of Telon in New Targonor to receive a new quest that awards a brand-new anniversary surprise!

General
?Brotherhoods no longer require a cool-down period between leaving one and joining another.
?The offline time required to be moved by a Caravan has been reduced to 15 minutes.
?Many NPCs in Ichtakhta now give experience when killed.
?The quest "Heroes of the Past" no longer requires 20 hours between kills.

Items
?Araznik, Infused Scepter of Burning; Araznik, Mighty Mace of Death; and Araznik, Blazing Mace of Bone Crushing will no longer disappear when used.
?Finch's Blade of Trickery now does an appropriate amount of damage.
?Malore Helm of Sovereignty will now provide the buff Blood of the Vanquished Kings when equipped.

Abilities
?The ability that negates adventure XP gain has been renamed "Stop XP Gain". Its reuse has been reduced to 30 seconds, and it should no longer be stripped by death, camping, or NPC dispells.
?The effect on the Bard offhand epic no longer refers to luck, which was flavor text only. The description has been updated to clarify what the ability actually does.
?If you own more than one home, your recall ability now asks which house you'd like to teleport to.

Dread Knight
?The negative effect of Regain Confidence has been reduced.
?The reuse timer on Hatred Incarnate has been reduced to 3 minutes.
?Word of Doom and Ancient Word of Doom now add hate in addition to doing damage.
?Torture now provides additional hate over time.
?Aphotic Shield will no longer be stripped when a Cleric casts Shield of the Divine.
?The damage and lifetap amounts have been increased on the Cull line of abilities.

Sadly VG has a million WoW style quests and even worse.
In fact, there are some areas like Cragwind where you can find kill quests for every snake, rock or scorpion mob around. Its mindblowing dumb and utterly boring. You just have to ignore this type of content if you want to really enjoy VG. Dungeons and major questlines (f.e. Cragwind "shrine of zephyr" fabled weapons) are the way to go.

I think devs added these questhubs in a hurry when they had to rush VG release.
Soloing VG is a waste of time, of course back when XP gains were slower, it was nice to have kill quests around to kill time, but its really unnecessary these days.... As the poster i quoted said, do the big dungeon areas:

Tomb of Lord Tsang
CIS
Celestine Ward ( Vol Tuniel and Thelassen )
Cragwind if you want the weapon
Darguns Tomb
Greystone

That is some of the best dungeon content I have played in an MMO ever... ( of course there are a ton more ) but those are some of my favorites

I finally made it to our guild hall today and it looks awesome, the guy who has been maintaining the guild is a great decorator lol. However, it did make me kind of sad that it looked so great and was warm and inviting and we're the only two there. I'm putting some shots below and I think I'm actually going to start really recruiting tonight with events and crap to get some life back. The other dude has like 5 or 6 50's so can help out with a bunch of stuff.

Haha it does, but I didn't get to see it then so I thought it was cool. The snowmen still make sense and they're all over the place but the trees do need to go.

After all of these years it is nice to see people enjoying the game.

As for the quests, basically they were put in quickly in a sort of "panic mode" because players were absolutely lost and clueless (keep in mind this is 2006/2007) about what to do or how . They were very fast to make, the world was huge, and the code resources were stretched beyond breaking. I am hard pressed to think of a way we could have done it differently all things considered. At that time, given the tech and resources that were available, it was among the best options.

Now, there are FAR better ways to do these sorts of things (structure content), but we were in a real bind by that point.

You go and you kill shit. Then you kill more shit until you can kill the shit blocking you from figuring out the story. That's the way it's supposed to be in a McQuaid world.

We didn't need another WoW wannabe.

I'm not saying Vanguard is a WOW clone, but That sound an awful lot like WOW to me.

Also, after playing this some, I'm curious how much code in Vanguard is identical to EQ.

New panda mounts that are droped from the Valus lockboxes are kewl, same with the new Unicorn Mount, and Manticore flying mount.
