Man, at least this weekend.. I feel like i've had a vastly different experience than what was said.
Most of the games that I have lost in spectacular fashion (100-5-3 ect).. has been mostly a large pack of players(presumed a stack) running around the HZ with minimal basing and zero drill calls from the leading team. They just murder everything and whenever you feel like you've taken a good chunk of them down.. the APC is either close by or they've maintained enough distance between you and their group that they can just freely res.. and if you manage to fend them off long enough, they'll just walk off to the next area; killing all along the way. It's been M4 users ending the game with 70~ kills respectfully. Whenever you do get nuked by another base, it's often the base they horded into and took as if they were seal team 6 and used their arsnel against you. It feels very paper rock scissors in that regard because sometimes your whole team is paper and that strategy is just the scissors. I'd say earlier in the week, I experienced more back and forth basing via drill calls and HZ rushing being last ditch.
I managed to do a similar strat when I had 4 homies on, grabbed a humvee or two.. rolled up on a far fob, someone jumps out and c4 the doors, drive the humvee in, and kill the base rats then hack the fob.. use the artillery and antiair to hold off oncoming.. then before it gets too overwhelming we drive off to the next fob and continue the pattern or die fighting then rinse repeat. Feels pretty cool, as 75% of the base occupants are pretty defenseless. I've yet to do the humvee nade strat, but I ran into it once.
Of the havocs i've seen.. they never tend to last too long in the air; sure they pick up a few kills esp as people run around the fob.. but you can los it so easily.. it just feels like a giant spotlight in the sky. Now, i'd say of the times it went down; it was never the people inside the base taking it out. I'm usually dragging people to walls based around it's rotation and reviving, then watch the person not know what to do and run right back into the open to die again. I feel like the little birds are far more oppressive as they're in and out constantly, and stupidly cheap.. also even the tanks i've seen have been getting their shit blown. Treads get smacked clean off, and they're just a sitting duck.
As far as T3 helms.. Bolt Actions using AP Ammo will one shot them. It'll two shots for T4.. the 50 cal will one shot T4, and I'm told that you can oneshot the driver in a humvee but I wasn't told much information other than that; if the humvee driver is wearing t2 or t3 armor iuno. Depending on what i'm doing, majority bolt actions, but if i'm using the SV98; i'll just aim for one of the tires and pop them.. it ends up slowing way the fuck down.. causing them to get swarmed like its the battle of mogadishu or they try to limp the fuck outta there.
And yes, please shoot the pilot. I'm absolutely addicted to sniping pilots, it's literally one of the best things ever. I'd say a majority of the time, I get the "hit" and they just fly off.. and other times, I get the hit and an assist pops up.. then there are the occasions where I two tap, or one tap the pilot. Often times, imo, they were bad pilots. Good pilots usually get hit and are gone, or won't give me enough face time w/ them.
Legmeta is also a thing, HP rounds and their fleshy bits works. Can drop a T4 np, so long as you don't hit the armor cus then you'll be doing less than a point of dmg.
and, the accuracy on some of these arty guys is next level.. no sort of measuring shot; just direct impact within seconds of a drill call. If they're calculating that via the map; kudos, but often feels like they're definitely using one of the calculators found online. hedgehogs are pretty op for antimortar fire for basing and/or mortaring.
