Gameplay now is join green team, join the death ball squad, chase the HZ. Mortars, arty, attack helis, tanks, drills, all a pain in the ass, but they'll only slow the zerg. If you have a big squad talking in the same channel and walking the HZ, you will curb stomp red and blue. Occasionally, red has the better zerg.

FOBs are essentially an irrelevant side quest. The fact that they're going to make them harder to build, seems to me, will make them even less relevant. It's just legos for the autists to play with while the death ball wins.

Come at me.
Friend of mine and I were talking about the changes and we seriously question if the devs are playing the same game we are on the same servers? Do they play mostly amongst themselves in a walled garden? Are they in a different region?

They talk about how T4 armor isn't a big deal, cause not a lot of people use it. They talk about how building is their key to winning and are nerfing it. They say its all driven by 'statistics and data' they have gathered from the servers. Sure, great. But statistics and data don't mean shit if you can't put them in context. Its like the survivor bias with the plane meme. I really wonder what they are seeing and what stats they are using to back it up, cause from my own experiences nothing I see anecdotally matches their statements.

Someone mentioned my group's Discord that the devs admitted that a death ball zerg is the winningest strat at the moment. I'm not sure how to reconcile that with them also saying building is the key to winning. FOBs *can* complement the zerg if the fobbits get something in place that protect the APC, provide harassmet, call the HZ, etc. Certainly not a necessity at the moment and I don't see how it becomes more effective if they make shit more expensive to build.

I'll be a mild contrarian and say t4 hasn't bothered me too much. It's heavy as fuck and expensive. Ya it's going to win if you come face to face in t2 or with an fmj gun. But I've had no problem dying in the common situation of getting blind sided from an unexpected corner. Really it does best pissing me off as a sniper knowing I won't get 2-3 head shots before they run. Sure some small tweaks of value might be needed and I think they did reduce it's dr.

Out of our various complaints, I just think it's small potatoes mostly to the other stuff

Depends highly on engagement. If I get caught out I'm screwed. But... if I catch someone else out, which happens a decent amount, if they're in good armor with a lvl 30 weapon it doesn't matter. I put 6 AP AK47 shots into a guys back (I don't have high level assault unlocked) and he just turned and burped his FAL into me and that was it. So yes, its situational. But, for the current death ball strat I think it is highly influential. Are there ways to counter it? Sure. Love my AMP with the HP Ammo. Fuck your knee caps. But still, that requires way more work than just soaking the ambush and still winning. A well geared death ball rarely dies out until they run out ammo and their armor breaks. (Oh. Edit to add T4 helmets stopping all but AMR headshots is a .... choice. Fuck that.)

As to deathball vs FOB, what I am referring to is a video where the devs talked about how they would win (FOB). Now, it was a short some I am not entirely certain when it was made, but I remember even then being all WTF? and why I keep banging on about the only time I see FOBs work is when they have an indestructible structure around them. They may have since changed their tune on that cause FOBs are mostly just predug graves people can die in. (And great ways to level support and make money :( )

Some of the medic and sniper weapon changes baffle me on paper, still finishing video. M249 not great and took big nerf kinda in cost/grind. Not sure how pkm will be with damage nerf, I kinda suspect undocumented recoil changes etc on some of these.

Nerfs to deliveries, looks like 3-4 runs to break even at least what used to per, really hurts me as I wouldn't trust pilots so id do a delivery for a little support then run off to fight/special mission. Unarmed humvee an extra 50k seems rough.

Some crazy changes. I think they're mostly accurate with a lot of it. I didn't even unlock T4 because the second you put on T3 you're already T-maxing just to move around because of the shitty weight system. I MAYBE notice T4 armor with AP rounds when I hit a guy 5-6 times and he lives, but I mostly just chalk it up to leg/arm shots and AP doing less damage on flesh. TBH a T4 guy vs AP dies the same speed as a T4 armor guy vs AP with an M4. It's kind of stupid, that's why you see a lot of streamer infantry just going T2 because they'd rather maneuever than tank if they're playing angles anyways.

Lotta crazy nerfs. T4 helmets gonna be donezo except for vehicle slayers, which is probably okay. Unfortunately means Mosin AP men are going to be a forever thing since they can 1shot a T3 helmet. Amp/Defib pushed way back gonna make it a bullet-tapping, finger-fucking fest out there. Always remember to buy smokes, fellas! Even if they don't work on the enemies client!

It looks good to me, some of it I don't like, but overall I think it's moving more towards the right direction than wrong one for my play style at least. Pushing Little Bird gunners like 2 pilot levels or whatever is a huge nothingburger. The parachute shit is kind of a nothing burger as well as 90% of people didn't know how to quick-chute and live anyways. If the PKM let's me kill bird pilots early I'll waddle my ass through the zone gladly. Curious about the Ultra as that's supposed to be the least recoil LMG in existence, so that could definitely be a problem if they add in a 5.56 Vector with a 100 round mag. I love that gameplay, but only when I'm on one end of it.

This shit launches at like 4:30am EST so the hardcore sweaters are going to be blasting this shit all day and going to be like lvl 30+ by the time most people play in the afternoon/evening. Gonna be a fucking killzone. Hopefully the customers throw up a level restricted server or two so people can play the game against equals.

I will say I love the friendly fire shit with reports. Unfortunately it's going to mean crashing a heli on accident is a BIG no-no. Probably a hidden FF tag they track across servers too. Hopefully they can shadowban the griefers to their own grief servers which would be hilarious.

Also, what the fuck was up with the #1 clip for 100k? Is that money laundering? That shit happened all the time. Something's off, maybe making an undeserving clip #1 generated enough hate clicks for the publicity to be worth it.
