what do you mean by pools popping out during a flood?
I didnt say during a flood. I said all bets are off during a 100 year flood, ie houses floating away. I used pools popping out of the ground as an example of the power of water.

Empty pools can pop out of the ground due to hydrostatic pressure if the water table gets too high. When I build em I have weep holes in the shell allowing ground water through the shell to relieve that pressure. Once its plastered and full you dont have to worry about it as the weight of the full pool itself is stronger than the hydrostatic pressure.

It wouldn't really be practical to design a house for 6 feet of water pushing on one side of it. Foundations are designed to hold the house up against gravity. If you're pushing it up or sideways, that's pretty unusual and not what the foundation is designed to deal with.

Phone gave me a tornado warning, first time it actually pinged a weather alert in awhile.

We hit 100 in central Florida in back to back days. We don't get that "dry heat." It was mother fucking hot. It drops down to 94 today and you're like "man, not so bad today."

Normally high ar around 95-99 here where I live in east, TX. Same for where my parents live in Mississippi. Two years ago there they had a week of 105. Here I had around 103-104 for a week or more about 30 years ago. It comes and goes. Hell I was working for the US Forest Service all day every day wearing long pants so I could walk through some incredibly thick shit. It didn't bother met all as long as I stayed in the shade.

Last week we had a few days of highs in the upper 80s. Of course it normally cools down when it rains and it rains a lot. Of course the humidity goes to 99%. Weather is one of those things you get used to whatever the weather was like where you grew up. You might move for better weather but in a lot of ways "normal" is where you grew up (assuming you went outside which nowdays who knows).

When I lived in Phoenix they would always say on the radio in the summer where the hottest place in the country was. Phoenix was it quite a bit, or Vegas, but once in a while it was Miami and I would always think it could be worse because I know it's humid there as well. It's no wonder the women there don't wear clothes.

We've been blessed with a mild summer with lots of rain so far, but it is going back towards a more normal okieland hellscape again.

Someone should make a site or app that tracks how accurate the weather forecast turns out to be. I looked the other day and for the next 3 weeks the future cast which is never right showed 90s every day which seemed about right for this time of year. Then one day it had 105 out of the blue and then back to 95 again. Shit is never right and that's just temp and it gets extremely off with rain.

Shit, I notice wonky stuff like that during the day. Where the temperature at that very moment is an obviously fucked up one, 15-20 degrees above what it actually is.

I feel like a lot of this isn't even controlled by humans anymore and it's just errors that don't have some kind of catch to make sure they don't go live.

Its not the fault of the weather people they are always wrong. Its because of climate change!!!
