Did a lot of looking around, and think I'll end up just trying an assortment of different kinds to see how I react to them. Plus it'll make good use of some of these first time discounts.

Going to try some 1:1, rosin (if I can find them, these seem more rare around here), RSO, and regular. Mostly indicas, but will likely try to get a sativa and hybrid of at least one of them.

And if the gummies just don't do it, I guess then I'll look into smoking it.

Was also disappointed that last night I found out that the Florida veterans thing was killed (waive the annual fee, and make it a 2 year instead of 1 year). The House passed it unanimously, but then the state Senate decided to not even vote on it to kill it entirely. Seems pretty shitty.

There are times the edible doesn't do shit for me either.

One other thing to consider is when you take them. If I take them on an empty stomach I get obliterated.

The only good thing, at least for me, is that the gummy companies tend to be consistent. So if you find a good brand or two you will be in a good spot. I have tried probably around 20 different brands, most through freebies, and there are only 2 I buy consistently now.

Yeah edibles is definitely a take small amounts at a time and wait for your first dose to take effect. Also, make sure you check the dosage of your gummies. I have accidentally eaten 200 mg when I thought it was 80mg lol.
All three doses were on different weekends. They were also from the same bag.

Hmm, that's weird.. I know like eating fatty foods will also increase the absorption rate of thc gummies. Or hell, just shitty product and didn't mix it well enough. I've personally never had that problem, but different types of gummies will also effect differently. The difference between rosin and distillate gummies for instance.

Well that whole process was retarded. I had made the appointment online, but apparently their system puts everything in eastern time, so I was late. But it didn't matter one bit because there wasn't anyone else there when I arrived. The doctor didn't ask me a single question about anything. In fact, when I asked him questions, he was just like "you should probably ask the people at the dispensaries." Talk about doctor easy mode life.

Got my temporary card pretty much instantly, and there's a dispensary right there. So went and bought what I thought was a lot, but only ended up being about $80 (granted, with a 60% discount). Figured I'd get a little of everything, sativa, hybrid, indica (mostly indica), and then regular, RSO, and rosin, as well as a cbd/thc one, although I thought I said 1:1 and ended up with 5:1. Probably because dude thought I just wanted to get high.

All that to say, the entire system still feels scummy as fuck. Basically state sponsored drug dealers. It in no way felt legitimate. There's no reason to not make it recreational if this is what a medical card looks like.

Anyway, wish me luck!

This is what I heard is the process as well, very much reminiscent of the oxycontin shit of the 90s "pill mills".

That said. There's no reason this shit should still be illegal. 10/10 times ill feel safer around a stoner than a drunk

I unfortunately don't know shit about the Florida market. You will probably want to stick to Indica or at least hybrid-Indica strains. Mainly because Sativa is known to give people some anxiety and with some PTSD that wouldn't be good. The first test with edibles will be to see if you are one of those that aren't affected by them at all. Gummies are very wishy washy with me and I have to take like 100 mg to really get anything out of it. Part of that is also my tolerance as I consider myself a heavy smoker.

As for smoking, I would look into dry herb vapes. I have been using them for almost a year now and it's nowhere near as bad as combustion. Basically you are packing a bowl and then using heat either through conduction or convection that heats the flower and boils off the stuff that gets you high. This cuts out all the stuff that doesn't actually get you high from burning it normally. You get a nice vapor instead of a cloud of carbon. I have recently upgraded to an Arizer Solo 3 v2 and I haven't used anything else since.
I'm still experimenting, but it's looking like I might be one of those abnormally high enzyme people.

First 5mg dose from my drum teacher gave me some back pain relief.
Second 5mg didn't do anything whatsoever.

Got my card after that.

So far I've done 4 5mg doses (both were a 5mg, waiting around 5-6 hours, then taking the next). Then I bumped it up to a 10mg hybrid, took my preworkout, and then worked out. Maybe 3-4 hours after I did get a very mild high for maybe 30 minutes, and a good 2 hours of complete pain relief and the remaining 3-4 hours on each end was maybe 80-90% pain reduction. Took a 10mg indica gummy same night, and didn't get much out of it. Mostly through all of this I'll get a bit of brain fog, or what I'm calling brain fog, it's an unfamiliar feeling for me to not have my mind constantly racing. Which is probably why it's good for PTSD. The pain relief seems decent enough to keep doing this for sure, but not as consistent as I want.

Took a 10mg sativa this morning and got even less pain relief than before.

I keep reading these things about potheads getting absolutely thrashed on 10mg, and I'm assuming all of these gummies aren't underdosed. I think I'm mostly okay with that. I'd really like to try experimenting more with ratio'd gummies, especially CBN ones. I really do want the pain relief and still being able to function in society. So far it seems like I'm getting a little of the stuff that makes me not want to drive, and a little bit of the pain relief. Which makes me think I need to up the dose which will impact both.

Just rambling. I still need to try the RSO and Rosin ones I bought, which will hopefully do better.

The bad thing with edibles is, they build your tolerance up the more you take.

CBN is supposed to be good for inflammation pain, but it's primary for sedation/sleeping. You may want to look into possibly straight RSO. Here they come in syringes and you just put some on a cracker or something and eat it. I don't know how well versed your budtenders are, but if you get a good one, they should be able to point out some things for you.

Surely the tolerance takes months to build up though, and not 4 days?
It can happen rather quickly actually. Edibles are basically super concentrated THC bombs. I enjoy flower the most personally, I will only do edibles/dabs like once a week. I think your best bet may be trying RSO or vaping flower.

edit: Also since you are taking different types, they just may have different actual potency between them. Meaning one may be 5mg, but it could be higher strength.

Nope, if you keep jacking up the dose your CB1 receptors can start adapting really quick. It definitely depends on the person, but I'm similar in how edibles effect me.

I'd try a vape pen for your next few doses to change the delivery mechanism. You can also try letting the edibles dissolve under your tongue instead, which helps get it to the bloodstream faster/directly rather than letting your liver mess with the delivery.

You might be different, but I get almost ZERO pain relief from Sativa. Maybe I'm weird, but I like Sativa for the nice head high/creative boost. It makes me feel like I'm Einstein. Indica or indica dominant hybrids are the only strains I've ever noticed the pain relief from. You might want to also start adding a dropper of CBD with your edibles - that's what's giving you the pain relief effect, but it really requires the THC interaction to be fully effective.

I really wanted to avoid smoking, but I think I'll likely end up having to.

Yesterday was actually a good example of when I would've preferred it. Had back pain in the morning, but something in the early evening where I needed to drive. So I just took the day off (since I have no idea how long any of this will last at the moment).

How long should I take a break from any particular method to decrease my tolerance?

T breaks are minimum 3 days to probably 2 weeks. Depending on the person and how much you've taken. I manage mine by staying away from concentrates, except as treats or to get so stoned I sleep like a baby, and I usually only smoke in the evenings.

Still experimenting, and I found some stuff about how it may not be the missing enzyme, but rather just super fast metabolism (which I have). Apparently taking an antacid first can help slow down your stomach acid from breaking down the gummy (sublingual hasn't seemed to help).

Sure enough, took 1 Tums last night and got decently high for 60-90 minutes, with the rest just being lowered pain for the most part. I also seem to be adjusting to the foggy brain part and it doesn't feel like it's impacting me as much.

I'm not sure my wife approves though. She didn't find the story about how I was watching Family Feud after I took the gummy, closed my eyes and could feel my brain, then felt like my brain was a super powered brain, and then the TV muted itself randomly after I did that which freaked me the fuck out, as particularly amusing. I told her she just didn't understand what it's like to be able to feel your brain.

There is nothing like eating some edibles and doing something real physical. Really enjoy highs from them. 20mg gummies seem to be what works. Chocolate, baked goods, and those nasty fucking beverages do nothing for me.

There is such a good market in Michigan. Grabbed this the other day and it smells like you opened up a grape kool aid packet in a pine forest.

Gummies are becoming really frustrating for me. The Tums thing worked the one time, and then not really since. Doesn't seem to matter what I eat or don't eat beforehand, it seems like a crapshoot. But on top of all that, I'm up to 15mg and still it seems like a "maybe" if it does anything.

I do think I'll have no choice but to smoke this shit.
