If metabolic downregulation is at issue, wouldn't his weight loss rate (this guy was eating NOTHING) change over time as his metabolism either got more fucked up from not eating or got better as he lost weight? Seems odd given this "downregulation" idea that his weight loss was fairly linear all the way down from 456 pounds to 180 pounds.
Every single time someone has actually monitored what obese people eat rather than relying on self-reports, they are eating absolutely massive fucking amounts.
I guess anybody could be the one that violates the first law of thermodynamics, but I doubt it.
