I’ll post more tomorrow in response. From the sounds of it though, you’re in a good place for height and weight. I have more weight than I need, obviously, but it’s carried over from a prior life traveling the world doing things to bad guys I was paid to do and before that, contact sports.

If you do want to pursue physical fitness, I 100% recommend a coach. I have a fitness coach, business coach, and driving coach. There’s always someone who knows more and has experience to share.
Yeah, options galore when I was in CO, out here rural ok, seems like there's only female fitness stuff. I've got a coworker or two I might start trying to go with. Only online persona we knew about you was the lawyer stuff, first time I think you've mentioned service. Thank you for your service, certainly have kept the being a badass under wraps for a long time. Just stop mogging in this thread I think you're going to make a lot of us feel bad lol.

Dude, I worked out with guys juiced to gills in the 80s, guys going to the league and your physique rocks. Lots of folks with vitamin S would struggle to get there. You have vascularity in your traps, ffs. My skin has never been that thin, ever. Congrats on winning the genetics lottery. Anyone who can work hard enough to get to this point can figure out how to lose 10-12 lbs; we have faith in you. ;)
That's appreciated, but I don't walk around like that. It was after a strenuous ~90 workout so there was extra pump too.

And yes, I "think" I know how to lose the fat, but it hasn't worked yet the way I expected. So, I either up my cardio again or....well no that's it for now. After the last few pages here it seems like a GLP1 isn't for me unless my A1C shoots up over time and I put on weight due to inactivity. Reading folks experiences has been very helpful.

Hah! Sorry man, wasn't my intention. To clarify, Cad is our resident lawyer, I just do financial planning in partnership with law firms, CPAs, and RIAs. I should have gone into law, but I missed that boat. You are right about the privacy thing though. I have historically been close to the vest. But, over the years - and thanks to sections of the forum like this - I've decided to open up a little more from time to time and ask questions that I don't have answers to, or share things that might help someone else. I don't 100% agree yet, but my wife says its OK to be vulnerable, lol.

Rural OK huh? I guess that does limit your options. If you can't get a coach, then YouTube starter routines and go with a buddy. Having a second person there, even if they aren't a professional, is much better than going it alone. Bounce ideas back and forth, spot each other if the weight is intimidating. Make suggestions if lifting form is off or potentially risky. And, the camaraderie and support can be huge for confidence and motivation.

You definitely have the exercise part down. Just eat a little less if you want to drop a few pounds. If you have a pretty regular diet just replace sugar and carbs with roasted or steamed veggies for most meals.

I really don't do any sugar these days aside from occasionally in iced coffee or if I need a cookie after dinner. My issue has been "what has always worked in the past is no longer working", so I fished for new ideas or advice. Its looking like my end game might just be an extra cardio day and cut another 300-400 calories.

What I SHOULD do is get a standing desk with a treadmill under it so I can rot my brain in EQL and burn calories, lol.

Only ever done the doctor prescribed TRT and eat enough protein, fat, and carbs to grow or maintain. Some lucky genetics and lots of hard work. My dad had a heart attack at 54 and we have bad cholesterol that’s hereditary, so I’m not risking any HGH or DBOL and Andro. Gear just isn’t for me. It’s not worth the risk. If someone wants to question how I got here - years of work, years - that’s ok, because it’s just for me anyway.
You aren’t the first to assume, Cad. It’s all good.

I’m in this thread asking questions and learning more because I have put on fat that I don’t want and I’m struggling to lose it like I used to. Age I guess.
It's all good, like I said, not calling you a liar. I'll call you a genetic outlier. :)

Not entirely, I'm afraid. For the life of me, I've never been able to grow quads and hams to match everything else. They're plenty strong, but I don't think they're proportionally sized. But yeah, aside from genetically high cholesterol, random AFIB, a collapsed soft palate leading to sleep apnea, shrapnel in my left forearm, a replaced left knee and a replaced right shoulder, I'm golden =P

My bad, thought it was you butthurt and cad all Texas lawyers. Thought I saw you talking about certain judges that blow. Do you cover much estate stuff at all? Or possibly some advising for older loaded people that don't know what to do w/ their money? Might need to buy some of your time trying to get my dad squared away.

There's a thread talking about those a little, I think it was kourishu has one. I'm too uncordinated I know I'd trip and kill myself, probably would be good to have after burning 130 hours in a month or two on crimson desert. Though I do pay for it in sweat, finished a chapter this morning but now I have 2 hours of mowing etc to do in 105 heat index vs having gotten it down first thing in the am.

We are the opposite, my wife is upset if I mention her despite this place being like anonymous+. Benefits of E friendship/knowing people more than one off comments, but you can still get pretty personal advice you might not be as open with real life friends etc.

What kind of cardio are you doing? I actually don't do any cardio at all specifically, I just get cardio through sports. I do HIIT for endurance training but only about 20 minutes/wk. I do it on an off day and just go a treadmill and warm up 5 minutes jogging 6mph, then do 30 seconds at 12mph and 30 seconds at 4mph, back on and off for 12-13 minutes or until I feel like I'm gonna die. Then I go stretch and shower and go home. You can make the max speed lower or higher depending on the equipment you have and your running ability. You can also just do this outside on the sidewalk if you want. Just sprint for 30 seconds and walk for 30 seconds, over and over.

It's fucking magical training method, your vo2 max will go through the roof and you don't spend hours on a bike or running.

My firm's practice is specifically doing Estate Planning, Business Planning, and qualified plan consultation for high net worth clients. So, I travel the country building, for instance, estate plans for a bank's client, or a wealth advisor's client. Coordinate with those folks, plus law firms to create the correct trusts, assets, and funding for the family.

However, I'm more than happy to give advice and lend a hand to anyone here as well and odds are I know a good firm local to most people who can execute on anything that needs to be done.

Its either walking 2.5-3 miles after a lifting session while wearing a 40 pound weighted vest, or using the rowing machine (which I hate, lol). I'd LOVE to play some adult beer league type sports around here like softball or tennis, but I don't have the ability to commit to the schedules.
Jogging doesn't work for me anymore, so walking it is. For the same reasons jogging isn't an option, HIIT wouldn't be either. Slightly wonky knee and some nerve issues in that foot too. The high impact is pretty uncomfortable. If I ever have to run from a bear or something, I'm screwed.

You could do HIIT on a bike or elliptical you'd just have to really amp the effort up since those are inherently easier. The whole idea is to spend more time in HR zone 4/5, by whatever method that comes. With steady state cardio unless you're a marathon runner you're not going to be able to sustain in zone 4, but HIIT gets you there 10+ times in a 20 minute period. Thats where you make your heart/vo2/endurance gains when your system adapts to that stress.

Yeah, I had the standing desk/treadmill combo. Sadly, it seems the market for the under desk treadmills is pure fucking Chinese garbage, so it's hit or miss if you get one that's not going to shit the bed. The first one I bought lasted about 10 months before the motor started dying. The second one didn't even last 2 months before the same issue. But while I had them, I don't think anything else helped my weight loss more. Since the second one broke, I've gained back ~20lbs of the 40 I'd lost. If anyone does find a under desk treadmill that isn't a piece of shit, I'd love to hear it. It seems to be the only thing that's worked for me so far. I just don't have the money to keep throwing around trying to find one that's got at least some quality to it.

Well shoot, that's unfortunate to hear. I'm sure you had the same thought as me: "Hey, on at this desk, on this stupid computer for work all the time, I might as well burn calories instead of sit on my ass".

Went to the store for new pants today as the waist on mine are starting to look weird and bunched up. Figured I'd gone from a 36 to a 34. Nope... All the way to a comfortable 32. One of those bigger changes that visibly I just couldn't see, but this made me realize it happened

Follow Up: I did some quick Googling and this ranking came up. I've gotta say, the results don't seem encouraging. Too cheap and load capacity is too low for most of them. Makes me think they won't be durable long term.

If you want good motivation go buy some tailored or custom made pants that fit you properly at this weight. They don’t stretch at all so you’ll know if you start to gain again quickly and not being able to wear them will motivate you.

Expensive but best route may be a decent standard treadmill, pretty high standing desk, and remove the arms/bars of the treadmill and route the control box (smaller design better) to sit on the side of the desk or pain in the ass but on the floor/side whre you have to step off then turn it off.
