I'll have to agree with others here: This may not be the best show to everyone like GoT, but it is my kind of TV. I enjoyed it all, but had a pretty good feeling Mr. Hopkins wouldn't last past the first season. It's a shame.

When Delores was there with the MiB, talking about her one true love coming to save her, William, and then realizing he was the brute that had abused her for years; I felt bad for her/it.

Has Ed Harris been signed on for more? I'm really hoping there is a love/hate with them.

I'm totally on board with Team Host. I guess the next few seasons will be them teaming up with other awakened hosts from Shogun World and Future World and Medieval World. That will be pretty badass. It will be strange if there are other Delores' in the other worlds though. I hope they don't use the same look on different hosts in other areas of the park.

The show is good and it will be a healthy replacement for GoT.

In case you missed it, when Maeve and friends were on their way out the logo for Shogun World was on one of the walls.

I was thinking Samurai World, but I guess Shogun works too.

Yeah it could be either, though Shogun is a call back to a novel that came out a couple of years after the Westworld movie (and was later made into a TV mini series).

Ah, if they called it that in the book, I would assume that's what it is.

It was a novel by James Clavell, not Michael Crichton. I don't think it was even mentioned in the Westworld book which was only a novelization of the movie.

does Shogun world have smart swords that fire squibs and don't gut guests?

I'm wondering how you make a thrust from a katana non-lethal for the guests.

And do the female hosts whine like all of the chicks in Asian porn during the rapage?

Maybe the katanas will self-blunt if being swung at guests? Still hurts but hopefully won't decapitate you.

Can't wait for season II - Samurai World. Hiro Nakamura playing the Ford character obviously, with even more time travel fuckery!

What is consciousness is just a scenario created by Arnold and Ford bought into it like a loser.

So are we to assume Park 1, Sector 15, Zone 3 is going to be Shogun World or is Maeve going off to yet a different park possible setting up instead of different timelines but multiple parks next season.

My only real issue with the finale was it was almost all expository dialog.

Should've been more show, less tell.

I feel like one of the scenes with the security doods looking at the map has to have some Park X, sector Y reference. At least see if Park 1 is the Westworld or not.

Still from the scene where Bernard tells Maeve she is still on a script, note all her scripts are in the Arnold directory. My thinking is that Maeve is not conscious, only Dolores is - because Arnold gave her his login details so she can alter herself and others, once she gains enough consciousness to understand.

There's a Mainland Infiltration narrative and she broke from that to go find her daughter. Was that her inner voice speaking to her(ie: her becoming conscious) that allowed her to get off the train? Or does the cornerstone memory override the narrative functions?

Hard to tell. If you look closely there is an "if destination mode=" and we cannot see the rest, but after that the line program is to recall a memory if a certain condition exists (Condition meaning leaving the park). We can assume that memory trigger is her daughter - which she says earlier she will not let that hamper her escape. It also just could be a fail safe memory recall and object path to force her to get off the train. I wish we could see the whole program :)

I assumed the daughter interactions are what will get her to consciousness. It's the extra suffering that's needed.
