Over here in the Netherlands the CLA45 AMG costs ? 66k. I wouldn't complain over there.
I was just reading back some pages, this caught my eye. I'm in Australia, I know we pay quite a bit for cars here, heavy tarrifs to help local car producers ( not working too well )

So anyway checked MB Australia website, CLA45 AMG - drive away cost = AUD $94,500

Then I put that into a currency converter . . . EUR 66,000

So quite strangely the same.

Although I gotta say, a lot of money for a 4 cyl 2.0l car.

E30 and E46 are my favorite, sucks almost all used E30's around here are like 5-8k.

yeah, the 2k ones now have no engine in them or a dent in every panel. One day I will find one though.

I love that gen M3. What did you replace it with?
Ended up getting a Focus ST. Had the practicality, performance, and reliability/ease of ownership I was looking for

Couldn't justify getting another European car given where I will be living the next couple of years, and the maintenance was getting ridiculous on a car that old - but oddly enough, it was hard finding a car as practical as the M3 (the E46 can seat 5 and can fit a shit load with rear seats that can be put down) that was also affordable

Gonna miss the shit out of the E46 for sure but I got a hell of a good 8 years out of it

Same here. E30 and E46 are timeless imo. Too bad the E46's reliability takes a shit after a few years

I expect to be back to the M world sooner or later... well, assuming BMW doesn't continue becoming more like Audi or Mercedes

Just picked up this for my new every day driver, 05 trailblazer with just 60k miles, clean history with 1 owner. Paid 7300 for it and its a really solid vehicle for the price. Now I plan to store this Cadillac and Taurus I have and use em both + cash on a new Challenger perhaps next summer. Or sell both and use all that cash on a 05-07ish corvette.

yeah I REALLY love the new Fiesta/Focus ST just unsure what the fuck they were thinking not bringing the 3 doors to the US, that ruined it for me.

Be glad they even brought em here... you can definitely tell the Focus ST was designed for the European market. Amazing bang for the buck out of the car

Here's my car: 1998 Mercedes C230. She has about 176,000 miles and still runs really well. I would love to get a new car but work has been really slow so I just don't have the money to do so =(

Yeah Ford is retarded when it comes to their own cars competing with the precious mustang. I guess they don't realize there are people that don't want a Mustang and would kill for the Focus RS, such as me.

I cant picture many people going to the dealership with a Mustang on their mind, seeing the Focus and saying "Fuck, that's everything I wanted in a car, why buy this shitty stang?"

and on the opposite side,

I cant see anyone going in to buy a Focus because they think its a hip and trendy car with good gas millage that is fun to drive in the twistys, saying, "aww fuck it, that Mustang actually has trunk space, where do I sign?" (P.S. I have no clue why someone would buy a focus, that's the best I could come up with)

I don't know, I'd opt for a Mustang GT over an optioned-out Focus ST (both being around 30K). Even a cheap Focus ST (~23K) you could get a Mustang V6 with the Performance Pack. Both Mustangs would destroy that Focus.

It's all about target demographics. They're both built on the same platform but then customized for gays or cousin fuckers.

A range of $28,000 to $34,000 gets you (in Manheim prices):

2008 BMW M3 with ~50,000 miles
2010 BMW Z4 Roadster 35i with ~30,000 miles
2010 Chevy Corvette 3LT with ~11,000 miles
2007 Mercedes CL550 with ~60,000 miles
2008 Lexus IS F with ~40,000 miles
2007 Maserati Quattroporte Sport with ~50,000 miles
2005 Porsche 911 Carrera 997 with ~34,000 miles
....
2005 Aston Martin DB9 with 13,000 miles....Manheim do not have enough auctions to make a true black book price, but this sold on 9-5-13 for $34,000...

The Focus RS was a badass motherfucker @305hp and it looked very good. All I'm saying is if Ford would have brought the RS or 3 door ST to the US they would have had a sale with me and many of my friends, instead I didn't even consider it as an option and picked up a used GTi instead.

I'm not arguing one is better than the other, it's all about personal taste.

Because all of those used cars - with the exception of the lexus and maybe Vette - will cost a ton to repair and maintain. While, for the posted price, you could have a newer car that won't shit the bed, then make you go broke. That Maser and Aston will NOT be reliable and you WILL spend a fucking ton to keep it going.

There is a very good reason that an 80-100k car new, turns into 1/3 of the price after a few years.
