Was hacked using unmaintained PHP (always keep up your system to date).

The entire list of the user emails (yes, there are registered users) is now out there, including the mods. Notably those with @edu or @gov adresses. It's not going to look good if you dodged DOGE just to get caught being a mod on 4chan...

Why would an EDU address matter? Pretty sure any student can get an .edu email address

Damn its still down. It will come back up, sure, but 100% compromised if it isn't already.

It's such a weird place.

You know, there's "hard to replace me" secure, "hard to fire me" secure, and then there's "registering on 4chan with your work email" secure...

I feel like this shit has gotta be common among most forums. The moderators usually seem to have their own collective agenda and are in each other's ear when it comes to users they don't like for whatever reason. Just imagine people trying to operate like this anywhere the law has any authority, making claims for official action while also taking secretive notes of how their actions are motivated by other more personal reasons and instructing which actions to take against people on that basis. They'd get crucified over that.
